Activities at White Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators here at White Lodge enjoy the fulfillment of helping residents feel important and a part of something. Meaningful moments are created through laughter and comfort. A varied activities programme is offered for the betterment of residents' bodies and minds, including music for health, 'Oomph' sessions and chair Zumba, in addition to coffee and cake groups that all inevitably lead to giggles and old fashioned singalongs. Also, we organise parties, trips out, walks in the country, bus outings and wonderful entertainers to visit our home. A sneaky tipple is always welcomed with cheese and crackers and, at the end of the day, it is important to go home knowing our activities have made a difference.

Celebrating Barchester's 30 Years of Care with a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

White Lodge residents and staff celebrated Barchester’s 30 years of care in style with a Mad Hatter's Tea Party. The home was transformed into a wonderland with not only an afternoon tea but also a birthday cake.

Our very own Alice, White Rabbit, Queen of Hearts and Mad Hatter bought many smiles with entertainment from Jessica Fay, so much fun was had by all. The decorations were beautiful and transported us all down the rabbit hole. We were delighted so many family and friends could join us.

Thank you so much to the amazing White Lodge team who made this event such a success.

Bonfire Night Goes off with a Bang!

What a fantastic Bonfire Weekend at White Lodge - it really went off with a bang!

Residents, staff and families all got together for such an enjoyable evening. We were delighted so many people could attend, it was a wonderful atmosphere. The hospitality team cooked a tasty barbeque and there were plentiful supplies of hot drinks as well as treats hand made by residents. Maintenance took charge of the display and burning our very own guy! The colours were spectacular, lighting up the countryside all around. The rain held off so many residents could come outside and those who were not able to were positioned so they could watch the display from inside. Thank you to activities and all the team for another memorable White Lodge event.

Happy Halloween!

White Lodge residents had a lovely time today making Halloween Fruit Skewers. They carefully selected the fruit for each skewer and then got creative with the pumpkins - what great pumpkin characters they made. We then went around the home and everyone really enjoyed the fruit and seeing the pumpkins!

Penny for the Guy

Brent and Lou from our maintenance team created their very own workshop to make the guy for our Guy Fawkes night celebration.  What a great job they have all done making our very own White Lodge Guy.

Creating Leaf Wreaths

With such a beautiful autumn day we took the opportunity to go outside and pick a range of leaves for a craft project. Using the selection of leaves White Lodge residents created leaf wreaths. The autumn crafts around the home are looking great, there is nothing better than the colours of nature.
