Activities at Wilton Place Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Russ and Stephanie delivered the tunes along with buckets of enthusiasm.
Big thanks to 'Celebrating Age Wiltshire' for sponsoring this wonderfully uplifting event.
Wine Tasting
A relaxed and convivial evening for our residents and their families with the lovely Paula from local Wilton business 'Ways with Wine'. Paula was engaging and interesting and extremely knowledgeable, an absolute pleasure to listen to.
Our Head Chef Hayley and her team prepared fabulous cheeseboards and charcuterie accompanied by Wilton Reeve the Baker's baguettes.
Rockin' an a Rollin'!
What fun we had in the Bistro this afternoon. Lots of laughter, singing and dancing.
Nicky, our Dementia Champion holds a music and movement class each week for residents living with Dementia.
The session is always well attended and enjoyed.

Beautiful Ballet
Beautiful Ballet
“A child sings before it speaks, dances almost before it walks. Music is in our hearts from the beginning.” – Pamela Brown
Our residents were enchanted by a beautiful ballet demonstration by dancers from Salisbury DANCE Studios
Ari and Jessica showed us a range of RAD ballet sequences, narrated by Miss Kim, who then answered residents’ questions. We were fascinated by the pointe shoes which enable the dancers to perform on the tip of their toes. Jessica and Ari were an absolute delight, they are clearly very talented and danced beautifully, it was a magical performance.
The school was started after WW2 by Margaret Wardrop.
A number of Wilton Place’s residents danced ballet in their younger years and enjoyed reminiscing about shows and classes they attended in Salisbury.
Joyce said; " I remember being taught by Miss Wardrop. I was the youngest in the class and I performed in a show. We danced holding large jigsaw pieces and created the puzzle on the stage throughout the performance. Mine was the last piece of the puzzle to slot in, it was a picture of Salisbury Cathedral."
Antoinette Roberts, Wilton Place’s Manager remarked; “The resident’s faces lit up when the girls starting dancing. Every graceful movement had them transfixed. We are grateful to the girls and Miss Kim for bringing the Ballet to our home. We are looking forward to their Performance at The Playhouse at the beginning of April”.
Cheers!
What did you get up to on Sunday?
A group of our residents headed off on our minibus to a local, independent brewery, Dark Revolution Brewery and Tap Room.
A drive out in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside and beer! What could be better on a Chilly February afternoon?
Flippin' Fun on Shrove Tuesday
We have been mixing up batter and flipping pancakes all morning in preparation for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Day celebrations.
We marked this year’s Pancake Day with a pancake flipping competition and of course, lots of pancakes! Rich, our Head chef, flipped more than 100 pancakes, serving them up with sweet and savoury fillings for all the eager residents.
Rich said: “My secret to the best pancakes is all in the whipping. Give it some elbow grease when mixing the batter and you’ll get perfect pancakes every time. I like experimenting with the fillings – the residents’ favourites are chocolate spread and banana and of course, good old fashioned lemon and sugar!”
Sheila commented: “I absolutely love pancake day, it takes me back to my childhood when my mother used to make us all pancakes and we’d all wait in turn for ours hoping the batter would stretch to another. We’ve had so much fun reminiscing and sharing our favourite recipes for fillings.”
