Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Flower Arranging
Using fresh flowers to create our own flower arrangements is always a big hit with our ladies here at The Wingfield. Look at the beautiful arrangements our brilliant residents produced this week that are now proudly displayed in their rooms. This activity is brilliant for creative stimulation, dexterity, relaxation and the senses.
As a result of this being so popular with the residents here we have decided to start hosting ‘Flower Arranging Classes’ on a regular basis, welcoming relatives and the local community to join us. This will run on a fortnightly basis with more details to follow very soon.
Garden Centre Visit
Our residents recently enjoyed a trip to ‘Prior Park Garden and Pet Centre’. We had a lovely time looking at all the beautiful flowers and tropical fish, followed by tea and cake at the ‘Secret Garden Café’. Even the bus trip proved lots of fun involving a couple of sing a long’s and also reminiscing over our memories of the local area.
St George’s Day Celebrations
We had a very busy day here at the home celebrating in honour of St George Patron Saint of England. The residents started off the day with a St George’s themed quiz and in the afternoon we enjoyed a live performance from ‘End of the Track’. We were joined by relatives and members of the community, it was so lovely to see everyone come together and have such a good time. We finished the day off in typical English fashion with a nice cup of tea!
Pudding Club
This month we launched our Pudding Club and what a success it was! The residents enjoyed a variety of delicious puddings prepared by our Chef here and we were joined by members of the local community. This club will run on a monthly basis and everyone is welcome, please get in contact if you or someone you know who be interested in joining us.
Singing and Dancing are Good for the Soul
What great photos from our recent live entertainment from Justin, it really was wonderful to see so many residents dancing, swaying, tapping and singing along to the music! It was such a great atmosphere.
A Special Mother's Day Afternoon Tea
It was a lovely Mother's Day here at The Wingfield, it was very busy with visitors and we were so pleased so many could join their loved ones for our delicious Mother's Day Afternoon Tea. It is so important that our residents can celebrate important events with their family.
