Activities at The Wingfield Care Home
Here at The Wingfield our activities team provide a varied and interesting range of activities for all residents. We are registered with the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA) and we take pride in delivering activities that will enhance residents lives and bring happiness and a sense of purpose. Our cooking activities are very popular, as well as the regular book clubs, coffee mornings, skittle matches and bus trips. We provide one to one support for those who are unable to attend activities and we have tea dances, musicians, quizzes, music and movement, as well as our giant scrabble board! But most importantly we have fun! Relatives are always welcome and there is always much laughter and smiling faces during our activities. We take pride in what we do and we continually strive to enhance residents lives through meaningful activity.

Life at The Wingfield Care Home
End of the Track
The Wingfield were delighted to welcome back End of the Track, the residents so enjoy their music. There was lots of toe tapping and dancing, a great time was had by all. The group say how much they love performing in care homes.
Bouncing on the Beds!
The Wingfield Residents enjoyed a trip out to Leekes Department Store in Melksham and had a lovely time. Mair tested the beds and sofas! There was an opportunity as well to feed the fish on display and for sale. We then enjoyed tea and cake in the cafe, it was really enjoyable having a wonder round this varied store.
Five Star Crafts Launches at The Wingfield
It was wonderful to see the collaboration between the ladies from The Lodge and the ladies from the Trowbridge U3A as they got together to create stunning hand-made cards. Everyone was very industrious!
The newly formed Trowbridge U3A Craft group known as 5 Star Crafts will meet at The Lodge and there will be a different craft every 2 weeks that our residents can take part in. The group are kindly preparing and providing "kits" for the residents and everyone so enjoyed not only creating but also chatting.
Special Delivery
The Wingfield residents were delighted that Father Christmas took time out of his busy schedule to personally deliver gifts on Christmas Day!
It has been a wonderful few weeks counting down Christmas, there has been some great entertainment, a great selection of arts and crafts as well as some delicious festive food.
A Vintage Christmas
Over the past few months the residents in The Lodge have greatly enjoyed the visits and talks from Trowbridge Museum, they have been interesting and entertaining.
Their Christmas special was entitled a "Vintage Christmas" and we had a visit from a vintage Santa! Thank you so much we look forward to more talks in 2024.
Supporting Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal
The Wingfield were delighted to drop off the Christmas gifts collected by the home for the Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal for the Royal Hospital for Children. Resident Mair went along with Tracey and Michaela, thank you so much to everyone who donated. For infection control those donating are asked not to wrap the gifts. We are so pleased to be part of bringing a smile to children in hospital this Christmas.
