Activities at Appletree Grange Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our Activities Coordinator is constantly arranging new activities to stimulate and catch the imagination of our residents. From visiting entertainers to a regular craft table to outings on the minibus, there is always something for our residents to keep them entertained. Our Activities Coordinator also takes the time to sit with each resident and go through a life history so they get to know what the likes and dislikes of each individual are and can tailor the activities to suit them. A monthly residents meeting is held to get the views of the residents and to get suggestions from them and their families about what they would like to do and everything that can be done to accommodate their requests is done.

Christina Curtis
Hi, my name is Christina and I am the activities coordinator here at Appletree Grange. I joined both Barchester and the home in July 2024. We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we will work together to give residents the best possible experience.
We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Appletree Grange Care Home

A tip to the local
When you discover your local is back up and running there's only one thing to do
So a few of us folk here at Appletree Grange took ourselves out for lunch and boy oh boy did we enjoy it! Barry said it was the best Scampi he'd had in years
A massive thank you to all the staff at The Barley Mow Inn for making us so welcome, we will definitely be back very soon

Teddy Bear Day
"If you go down to Appletree Grange today you'd be sure of a big surprise..."
All things teddy bear were going on today from gummi bears, chocolate bears, cake bears, crumpet bears, flannel bears, gift bears and a bear hug from our very own Huggie Bear!

Italian Day
Ciao here from us all at Appletree Grange as today we turned to everything Italiano.
From the staff decked out in their green white and red, 50 interesting Italian facts, making pizza and focaccia, trying out limencello (but much preferring Baileys) Italian biscuits, spaghetti Bolognese, Tiramisu throwing coins into our very own Trevi fountain phew !
And the day wouldn't be complete without a visit from Gina Neapolitan who kindly parked her Gondola and gave us 'just one cornetto'

Milk Two Sugars!
It's been an absolutely fabulous day here at Appletree Grange as we welcomed Woven Nest Theatre with their production of Milk two sugars
Not only did they perform individual room shows they then put on performances throughout the day so all of our residents got a chance to take part in their fantastic interactive show.
As you can see by the photographs we have had a wonderful day
Our residents loved it especially Pip the puppet who brought out so much love in them

Pie's al fresco
Phew September started as scorcher of a month so what better way to take advantage of it than to bake our own lunch of cornbeef pies and eat Al Fresco then to chill later on who wouldn’t enjoy an ice cream to finish a fabulous day

Keeping fit together!
We were put through our paces today with a visit from the ‘Simonator’ to get us through some gentle chair exercises, He made sure he catered for all abilities so everyone was able to join in and ‘ feel the burn’ – of course the best exercise of all is Laughter and we certainly had that aplenty!
