Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Up Close & 'Per-snail' with Friends from Zoolab

The visitors were a little more exotic thanks to Zoolab's visit to Aschurch View.  Thankfully, everyone was well behaved; no one jumped, slithered or hopped away.  It was great to be up close and tactile with so many difference species.  Our residents had a great time'

Tour De Barchester

Residents, staff, family and friends cheered and congratulated the cyclist's as they arrived at Ashchurch View, their 9th stop along the tour. The Tour will be covering circa 200 miles, from Johnstown, Carmarthen to Wallingford, Oxfordshire, visiting 14 Barchester care homes along the way. The home presented a cheque of a £150 to Barchester's Charitable Foundation. And announced the winner of the bear competition which was our very own Pat head of housekeeping. Residents had a lovely time meeting with all the cyclists. The cyclists continued their journey being escorted by the Police down the drive and motorbike escort ridden by our very own maintenance man.

Kemerton Handbell Ringer

A resident who lives at Ashchurch view used to play for Kemerton Handbell ringers for many years and was a great passion of hers, the home arranged for the Handbells to come along and play, the resident was delighted to be able to hear them play again and pick up the bells again.

Fun for all at Easter Fair

Ashchurch View residents, staff and visitors had a wonderful time at their Easter Fair. There were a great variety of stalls, a wonderful selection of home-made cakes, guess the name of the sloth, an Easter Egg Hunt in our courtyard and a visit from The Good Day Farm.

Children were assisted by residents as they searched for Easter eggs in the courtyard! We met Sandra the pig, goats Mike and Patrick, Betty the fluffy rabbit, Dock the Rabbit, Polly, Grace and Ada the ducks and the stars of the show lambs Bo and Lilly. The adorable lambs happily sat on residents' laps and even fell asleep cuddled up.

Congratulations to Kyla who guessed the name of the Ashchurch View sloth - Sid!

Over £200 has been raised from today which will be donated to Tewkesbury Nature Reserve and Barchester’s Charitable Foundation Tour de Barchester which will be visiting Ashchurch View this summer.

Thank you so much to the team who bought today together and to everyone who attended, it was lovely to see families with all generations joining in.
