Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Ashchurch View Celebrate The Cheltenham Festival

Ashchurch View had a fantastic time celebrating the Cheltenham Festival 2024 we obviously watched the daily races, but were also very fortunate to have a display and talks from experts.

Resident Peggy's son Paul bought in a wonderful display of racing items including silks and trophies. Paul's late father Stan Warner owned and raced horses including successes at Cheltenham. Everyone so enjoyed looking at the photos and finding out more about Stan's career.

Our ladies greatly enjoyed decorating hats ready for Style Wednesday and we also loved seeing all the hats and outfits on "Ladies' Day".

On the final day of the festival the Ashchurch View, Head Chef, John took time to talk to residents about his former career as a jockey. He even showed everyone his original typed apprentice papers. John still has a real passion for horse racing and also spoke to residents about the form all while bringing some fun with his jockey outfit!

Celebrating International Women's Day and Mothering Sunday

To celebrate all the wonderful ladies at Ashchurch View we marked International Women's Day and Mother's Day by presenting all our residents with a bouquet of flowers. It was a very special weekend with lots of visitors and the opportunity for residents to spend time with loved ones. All our ladies loved receiving the flowers and it is lovely to see so many flowers all around the home.

A Very Lucky Visit!

This week we welcomed Erica from Cheltenham Animal Shelter along with Lucky the bunny. Lucky was the sweetest rabbit, loved all the fuss and was so gentle with our residents. Thank you so much to Erica for such an enjoyable visit, the residents so enjoyed it.

Memory Cafe Full of Fun

The latest Ashchurch View Memory Cafe was such a positive, afternoon. Singer Rebecca Haslehurst was fantastic we loved singing along. With plenty of tea and cake it was the perfect way to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Thank You Means so Much

When you work in care it is so much more than just a job, our care assistants are very special and have genuine empathy and compassion for those they look after each day.

Thank you means so much and when a lovely card and chocolates were dropped off today from the family of a resident who had lived at Ashchurch View for over four years it meant a lot.
