Activities at Ashchurch View Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Ashchurch View Care Home
Thank You Means so Much
When you work in care it is so much more than just a job, our care assistants are very special and have genuine empathy and compassion for those they look after each day.
Thank you means so much and when a lovely card and chocolates were dropped off today from the family of a resident who had lived at Ashchurch View for over four years it meant a lot.
Planning for the Tewkesbury Exploring Dementia Event
At the latest meeting of Tewkesbury Dementia Action Alliance the plans were finalised for the town's Exploring Dementia Event. The meeting was held at Tewkesbury Fields care home and along with Ashchurch View the two homes will have an information stand at the Discovering Dementia Event.
This event will take place on Monday 18th March from 10am-6pm at the Watson Hall in Tewkesbury.
During the Exploring Dementia Day as well as a number of information stands there will be talks in the morning from Barchester's Dementia Nurse Specialist, Mary-Joy Albutt and in the afternoon from Stephen Shelley-King Consultant Dementia Nurse for Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust.
If you would like any further information about the Exploring Dementia Event please do talk to the Ashchurch View team.
Weekly Afternoon Tea
Every Friday afternoon at Ashchurch View we hold a community afternoon tea. Everyone is welcome to join us from 2.30pm for tea, cake and a chat. It is a lovely sociable event and residents love this time together.
Experiencing The Gaia Exhibition
Ashchurch View residents experienced the Gaia Exhibition currently on display in Tewkesbury Abbey and it really was fascinating. This exhibition has been on display all around the world, the work of artist Luke Jerram it shows the scale of the earth three-dimensionally with NASA imagery of the earth's service.
Everyone was so pleased to have the opportunity to see the display before it leaves Tewkesbury next week. We also took time to walk around the abbey, it was also an opportunity for reflection.
Pancake Flipping Fun!
Not only did Ashchurch View residents enjoy delicious pancakes today, they had great fun flipping pancakes!
Sarah went all around the home including into residents' rooms and everyone including the team had a real giggle trying to achieve a perfect landing! It is fair to say the pancakes ended up in some interesting locations including on a lampshade!
Valentines Floral Demonstration for Residents From Master Florist
Ashchurch View residents had a fantastic time joining Kathryn Delve Master FLorist for a Valentine’s-inspired live virtual flower arranging demonstration. Kathryn shared brilliant and creative ways to decorate our tables with beautiful flowers. Residents put their skills to the test and followed along with putting together some amazing creations of our own. Our residents truly enjoyed the experience and the end results look beautiful.
