Activities at Ashlar House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Rita Green
As the Community Engagement Lead and Lifestyle Coordinator, I will be spending time with each resident and their loved ones to build a detailed picture of each individual, so that each person’s stay with us is as meaningful as possible. Although I have been working within this field for many years, thanks to the uniqueness of each resident, I am always enjoying new experiences in my role. My goal is to create an activities programme that caters to the capabilities of residents, including, but not limited to, individual and group activity.
I've spent the past few years forging strong relationships within the community and developing a pool of talented individuals that can support our in-house team to bring out the best in those we care for.
As we never stop growing and changing, it is important that we maintain an up-to-date Getting To Know Me booklet. With your help, the activities scheduled for your loved ones will be as relevant and enjoyable as possible.
I’m very much looking forward to working with all of you.

Life at Ashlar House Care Home
8 Of The Most Beautiful Birds In Essex
Eight little highly social Budgerigar attended Ashlar House this afternoon giving each resident time to feel how comforting and smooth they are to stroke, and obviously stunning to look at.
It prompted conversation and recollection, particularly for those who had birds as pets.
Epping Town Show
The day has finally arrived for the greatest show in Epping Town which happens each year.
The rain did not stop the visitors from coming to have loads of fun including the residents and families from Ashlar House on the grounds of Stonards Hill Park.
The Epping Rotarians and some of the National charity supported in the last 30 years were amongst the crowd supporting each other.
To end a wonderful weekend Ashlar house supported the Epping Rotarians and Friends of the Rotarians getting the awareness out .
Residents of Ashlar House and their families were happy to donate to both the home and the Community.
Fabulous 50's Summer Fete
What an incredible summer fete at Ashlar House! Despite the weather's best efforts to stop us, we had an amazing 60’s themed celebration!
Our community dressed to impress in fabulous 60’s attire, with props and a stunning backdrop for the perfect photo ops. The live entertainment had residents and families jiving, while others enjoyed classic games and delicious treats like popcorn, sweets, burgers, sausages, and chips.
A big thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and made it a day to remember!
Visit to The Epping Museum
One of our weekly events scheduled for the upcoming months.
This is where the museum holds a collection of memorabilia.
Residents at Ashlar House touched on reminiscing through pictures, themed rummage boxes and fragrances to smell where we can envoke cognitive impairment.
Today we was welcome by the community with tea and planned reminiscence box era to the 1930's 40's. We were honoured to have a chat with one of the regular visitors Steven who told us the story behind the silver anchor which was distributed by Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh to superintendent latham who came home to liverpool after the war.
Reminiscing has always been one of our for front conversation at Ashlar House it’s all about making the residents smile and thinking back to stories from the past.
Football Fever - England V Denmark
Football Fever is back at Ashlar House .
Residents and Family’s Ready with the home football bear mascot.
The anticipation to see who scores the first goal is unbearable and temperatures are beginning to rise so what’s the best way to cool down is by having a cold ice lolly and a glass of fizz and nibbles.
Well done to both teams everyone had a great time.
