Activities at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Shelbie Taylor

Head of Activities

Hi my name is Shelbie, I have recently been promoted to Head of Activities here at Boroughbridge Manor.

I have worked at Boroughbridge Manor for 7 years, I love making our residents smile. I get great satisfaction knowing I have made someone’s day better!

Myself, Leoni and Suzanne have created a wonderful culture within Boroughbridge Manor and we work together to give our residents the best possible experiences.

We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centred program of events and activities. We are extremely fortunate to have our very own minibus, we love taking the residents out for coffee, shopping and lots of fun trips out whether that be to the museum or the seaside.

Life at Boroughbridge Manor Care Home

,

St David's Day preparations in full swing!

St David’s Day is fast approaching so we spent an afternoon getting crafty making daffodils ready for the celebrations next week!

We had fun getting creative and utilsiing Oomph Wellness activity packs to make our Daffodil bunting display.

,

International celebration of real bread!

We marked the annual, international celebration of real bread and the people who make it.

Over the course of the week, overseen by our Head Chef, we kneaded, proven and baked a selection of different breads from granary loaves to brioche and sourdough.

Apart from tasting the delicious breads, our residents learnt interesting facts about the history of bread and watched videos about the magic of bread making.

We all had a wonderful time.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pudding Competition

We are delighted to share that Boroughbridge Manor have been awarded 1 of the winners in our internal Barchester Jubilee Pudding competition for 'The Best Pudding Design'.

Residents and staff put their heads together and donned their aprons to create a fabulous pudding called 'The Secret Crown'.

We are excited and keeping our fingers crossed that we make it to the final stages of the Fortnum and Mason competition!

Birthday celebrations for our Home Administrator, Louisa

We would like to wish our lovely Home Administrator, Louisa a special Happy Birthday.

Thank you for your dedication, commitment and continuous hard work to our staff and residents here at Boroughbridge Manor. We hope you enjoy your special day

Nescafe virtual experience

We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience. We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.

To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.

Birthday celebrations for a lovely lady!

Its a day of celebration for this lovely lady, Nancy! She's a cheeky sort and never fails to make you laugh on daily basis with her sass and outlook on life.

Its a pleasure to celebrate your 82nd birthday with you!

Nancy has enjoyed a pamper session in the homes salon and will be enjoying afternoon tea and birthday cake with her friends.
