Activities at Cadbury Hall Care Home

Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life. Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Hannah Lewis

Activities Co Ordinator

Hi, my name is Hannah and I am the Activities Coordinator at Cadbury Hall.

I studied ‘Creative Expressive Arts, Health and Wellbeing’ at university and am passionate about using the arts to aid people’s social, physical, and mental wellbeing. In my spare time I love to dance, sing, and act, and help to run a local drama group for children aged 10-18.

With the support of all staff at Cadbury Hall and feedback from residents, we aim for a varied and person-centred activity schedule to help the residents lead rich and fulfilling lives. The best part of my day is seeing the residents get stuck in with the activities and looking at the smiles on their faces.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Cadbury Hall Care Home

Bring on the sunshine

We have been so excited to see the sunshine return after a really wet and gloomy start to the year. Our maintenance has cut the grass, tidied the garden and has even got the hanging baskets ready for us to plant. We started off with a trip to the local garden centre to buy some plants, we might have stopped at the café for a coffee, it would have been rude not too. Anne helped picked out the flowers for the baskets and then Norah joined her to help plant them. We had a lovely afternoon getting the garden ready for summer.

Garden centre shopping spree

We have been eager to get out into the garden all year but the weather has not allowed us to do so. Safe to say as soon as we saw a glimpse of sun we were straight in the mini bus and on our way to the local garden centre.

We had a browse and found some amazing items for our garden, it was very hard to pick out a selection of flowers when there were so many to choose from! Molly found some wonderful hanging baskets and Anne picked out some beautiful flowers.

After we had exhausted ourselves with shopping we stopped and grabbed a well deserved coffee followed by some delightful sweet treats. Now all that is left to do is plant our new additions and summer can finally begin!

Trip to the local Waitrose

We love hopping on our mini bus to go out and about in our local community, today we went to our local Waitrose to buy some Easter treats and have a coffee at the café. Peter decided he wanted to buy some magazines and chocolates for when his wife next visited and Mollie wanted to buy lots of Easter eggs for her family, we had an enjoyable time and were surprised by how busy the little town was. We were back in time for lunch and had a lovely morning, sometimes it’s the ordinary things we miss.

Visit to Crandon Springs

We decided that a visit to a sister home was in order, we travelled through Cheddar to get to Wells, admiring the scenery as we went. We had such a warm welcome from everyone at Crandon. We were especially delighted to meet Barbara who it would transpire worked at the same hospital around the same time as our Paul. The two were soon regaling in stories from the past and having a wonderful time. We cannot wait to host them in return and have already started planning for summer picnics.

Feathery delights

We were lucky enough to have two owls, Darwin and Indi  from the North Somerset Bird of Prey centre come to visit us. Paul was especially keen to see them as his wife was a keen naturist. Everyone was delighted to be able to hold them wearing a special glove and learn lots of interesting facts about them. They were part of the flight team so were quite happy with the crowd they drew, staff and residents alike were captivated and we will defiantly be asking them to return.

Easter is on its way

With Easter being early this year we are hopping on it, with Easter decorations going up around the home, lots of goodies being lovingly prepared from the kitchen, we also decided to try a bit of egg decorating. These eggs will hang from our Easter tree which is in reception for every visitor to see. Mollies daughter joined us and we had a lovely time creating wonderfully colourful designs and getting a little messy too.
