Activities at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Rikardas Cirunas

Activities Co Ordinator

Hello, my name is Rikardus and I am the Activities Co-ordinator at Chestnut Gardens Care Home.

I have worked for Barchester for five years and was so excited to be part of such a excellent team at this beautiful home.

Every day I look forward to supporting our residents in living a full and enriched life and especially enjoy the outdoor activities that we arrange to the local attractions, even if the weather can be unpredictable at times.

We also hold loads of varied internal activities so everyone is catered for and the musicians and therapy animals are a very big hit.

Life at Chestnut Gardens Care Home

We are going Digital

Training in full swing as we prepare for the launch of our new digital care system. It will plan, record and co-ordinate the care and life enrichment of our residents. Supporting us to continue to offer the highest quality of care to those we support.

Croydon Museum Reminiscence Session

Croydon Museum recently joined us for a fascinating session all about the War and what it mean to those that lived it. Paulette bought lots of wonderful memorabilia and sparked some great conversations and stories of times gone by. Paulette will be back again next month and we would love our community to come and join in. Pop over to our Facebook page to find out more.

Fish and Chip Friday's

We think Maureen's face says it all. Who doesn't love Fish and Chips, especially on a Friday and even better when washed down with a lovely glass of red wine. We know how to spoil our residents. Come and see for yourself or even join us too.

Talia plays her Accordion

Residents we wowed by the talents of Talia. She sang, played the accordion beautifully and had everyone up on their feet dancing. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.

Autumnal fun

As the nights draw in and the temperature drops. Residents at Chestnut Gardens love nothing more than, making and baking. So everyone got creative and made floral displays and delicious cupcakes for everyone to enjoy with a nice cup of tea.

Country Pub Lunches

With an abundance of lovely country pubs nestled in the Surrey Hills. Residents are spoilt for choice of places to visit. The Wattenden Arms was a firm favourite. Delicious food and roaring fires. The staff made us so welcome we will be back soon.
