Activities at Cheverton Lodge Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians, as well as art therapy, flower arranging, Exercise to music and quizzes. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.

Cheverton Lodge delighted to be joined by Vicar Steve - St Andrew's Church for communion.

Cheverton Lodge was delighted to be joined by Vicar Steve Clarke from St Andrew's Church for communion.

Recently residents have been joining St Andrew's Church via zoom so it is great that services can now resume in the home.

St Andrew's kindly donated a number of tablets to Cheverton Lodge for residents to use to stay connected to the church and in touch with their families. Today have us an opportunity to say thank you in person.

Celebrating World Friendship day

At Cheverton Lodge, residents, relatives and staff celebrated World's Friendship Day.

In the afternoon, María, our life enrichment coordinator organised a Clerico party for residents. They dined on finger sandwiches, a variety of delicious homemade dips and bread while tasting a new Argentinian Summer punch, Cider Clerico which we loved!

Family Reunion.

Today was a particularly joyful day at Cheverton Lodge, as Resident ambassador Helen, was reunited with her brother David and his family after 18 months.

Helen and her family spent the afternoon in our beautiful garden catching up over drinks.

Then to make their visit even more memorable, Maria our life enrichment coordinator arranged an afternoon tea for them in our private dining room.

So lovely to see you, we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Garden Life,

Garden Life !!

We have embraced the beautiful weather and have spent as much time as we can in our beautiful garden. Sun hats on and sunscreen applied, Maria our Life Enrichment Coordinator has arranged entertainment in our beautiful gardens and served us with ice creams and cold drinks.

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Roxys a star

Roxy's a star !!

We had a VIP come to visit Cheverton Lodge Care Community. Roxy and her human friend Kelly spent time with residents and what a huge hit they were.

Stroking a pet has been shown to lower blood pressure and the heart rate, bringing a calming and relaxing effect but most of all pets bring joy and love and there was lots of that. Roxy is a bundle of energy and fun and we loved having her visit.

Thank you Roxy and Kelly, we can wait to see you again soon.
