Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Elain Carey
Hi. My name is Elain and I help to deliver the daily programme of activities and entertainment and celebrations - there is always a birthday to celebrate! I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. I have a background in dance, music and acting, and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor, so I love it when we have entertainers in the home. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Claremont Parkway Care Home

Celebrating National Biscuit Day
Whether you’re a die-hard Digestive fan, a Ginger Nut, or go crazy for a Custard Cream, National Biscuit Day, celebrated on May 29th, is the perfect day for you.
And it was certainly a day of fun-filled biscuit dunking for the staff and residents at Claremont Parkway. To mark the celebration, Chef baked a selection of shaped shortbread biscuits for our residents and staff to decorate before dunking!
Natalie Maxwell, General Manager, said: "All our residents love tucking into the freshly baked biscuits our chef makes every day, but National Biscuit Day gave us the perfect excuse to nibble even more than normal! We all had great fun decorating each with a variety of colourful toppings."

Happy Birthday 'Barbara'
This week we celebrated our beautiful care home assistant practitioner, Barbara's birthday. As she's not that keen on cake, 2nd Chef Veronika presented her with a stack of her favourite cheese straws! (Hopefully not all eaten by Amancita).
Happy Birthday from everyone at Claremont Parkway, we hope you enjoyed the straws, and flowers as gorgeous as you!

Lunch Out At The Local
Who doesn't enjoy a trip to the local pub? Last week, a happy band of Claremont Parkway residents and staff decided to try something different taking a minibus trip to The Trading Post in Kettering.
Over the coming summer months we intend to fulfil our residents' wishes with many more trips out to visit different local establishments, pubs, cafes, and points of interest around Kettering.

Lucia introduces 'Coco' and Friends
Last week we welcomed Lucia's Tiny Farm with guest star, and new edition to the family farm; 'Coco' the fluffiest of puppies we've seen in a long time.
Lucia always brings a menagerie of small animals for our residents and staff to hold and learn more about, from guinea pigs to rats, reptiles to rabbits, we absolutely adore each and every one of these creatures.
It was smiles all-round the home as the animals, and especially Coco made friends with us.

National Doughnut Week
How can a mixture of flour, milk, eggs, yeast, salt and sugar deep fried until golden brown taste so good? When it becomes a delicious fluffy doughnut and topped with your favourite sweet things!
We’re a nation of doughnut lovers and over the weekend and in celebration of National Doughnut Week on 20-28 May our residents enjoyed a master class in doughnut topping (and eating) with a tray of freshly made doughnuts courtesy of the hospitality team.
The Claremont cookery class, with help from Home Manager; Natalie selected their favourite icing sugar colours and sprinkles to decorate each one before tucking in with a nice cup of tea.
Well done ladies, they look amazing!

Trip to Tesco's
Respite Resident; Barbara is a very independent lady who loves to shop! On a short visit to gather a few essentials from her flat today, our Head of Maintenance; Steve gave her the opportunity to nip into Tesco's Extra to browse the aisles for anything else she felt she needed to make her stay at Claremont Parkway even more special. (Umm Chocolate … and why not!).
