Activities at Claremont Parkway Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Elain Carey
Hi. My name is Elain and I help to deliver the daily programme of activities and entertainment and celebrations - there is always a birthday to celebrate! I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. I have a background in dance, music and acting, and I am also a qualified Zumba instructor, so I love it when we have entertainers in the home. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.

Guinea Pig Activities
What an absolutely amazing afternoon. Our wonderful volunteer Margaret that comes to visit our residents every week, planned this wonderful activity on the subject of her Guinea pigs!
Our residents enjoyed petting and cuddling each of their furry friends then made their own guinea pig bookmarks to gift to members of their family and friends before they sat together and enjoyed a lovely cupcake, all hand made by Margaret herself!
After all she's done here for us and our residents, naturally we gifted her some flowers as a big thank you for all she does to enrich the lives of our residents. Margaret commented; "It was a real joy to be with everyone ! The piggies behaved beautifully and we had so many laughs, it was brilliant."
Amazing David Entertains
Yesterday we had the lovely David McFegan join us in the afternoon and did a lovely performance for our residents. We were all tapping our feet and clapping our hands with joy, he truly was amazing!
Mayor of Kettering Official Opening
On Friday 20th January we held a Grand Opening event to celebrate the start of a new era, following significant investment to the home.
Visitors were welcomed to view the home’s stylish new interior and take a tour of Claremont Parkway. As you may know the home remained open, and welcoming residents throughout the major refurbishment which started on 17th January, 2022 and completed in September 2022.
Our residents, staff and guests were delighted to be joined at the home for an official ribbon cutting ceremony performed by the Mayor of Kettering; Councillor Keli Watts.
The home’s hospitality team provided complimentary refreshments and Afternoon Tea in the conservatory where Home Manager; Natalie Maxwell, staff members and residents spoke about the refurbishment and life in the homes’ new palatial surroundings and their excitement of receiving the recent ‘GOOD’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Natalie said: “The home is looking better than ever after the recent investment and it was a pleasure to showcase the elegant new interior at the Grand Opening event. Having the so many family, friends and local professionals join us, along with the Mayor of Kettering to officially open our new first floor suite, and receiving the CQC Good rating; 2023 has started in such a positive way. Our home offers residents and staff a wonderful environment to live and work in, today’s event is one we will all remember for a very long time.”
Getting Glam for VIP Event
Our ladies are feeling all glammed up after a trip to the hairdressers today, look how beautiful they are. We're all very excited as we have the Mayor of Kettering Councillor Keli Watts visiting our home on Friday to meet the residents and staff to view the amazing post WOW refurbishment of Claremont Parkway.
Our ladies and gentlemen will be ready to welcome her, and many local professionals to their beautiful home.
If you would like to visit, please join us at our Open Day on Saturday 21st January 2023, please call the dedicated team on 02045338957 to book a show round, there's a warm welcome waiting for you.
Pots, Paint and Planting Crafts
Our Arts & Crafts class combined creativity with a bit of indoor gardening as the group designed their own plant pot decoration and sowed seeds that they can each nurture.
With a choice of cress, chamomile, parsley and chives our little herb garden is well on its way to fruition. Our home is certainly offering these little plants the right conditions for growth, with a little daily water the cress has already started to sprout!
Keyboard Chris Entertains
We had the joys of being serenaded by Chris Beahan this afternoon with his lovely piano. All our residents thoroughly enjoyed his talents this afternoon, we all had a sing along but some were left speechless by the songs he played!
We look forward to seeing him again.
