Activities at Collingtree Park Care Home
Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a mix of activities and events for residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus and visits from entertainers and musicians. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as they can, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests and capabilities as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join in with activities and events as often as they can.
Martin Tilly-Reed
Hello, my name is Martin, I'm the activities coordinator here at Collingtree Park
My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.
Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.
I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact the activities team direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Collingtree Park Care Home
Trying Tai Chi for the first time
At Collingtree Park we enjoyed trying seated Tai Chi for the first time, thanks to an online session delivered for us by Ironstone Wellbeing. We all felt great afterwards - a little bit more flexible, energised by the exercise and we had a laugh, too, as we got to grips with the moves.
Enjoying Baking Club
Residents at Collingtree Park enjoy their regular weekly baking club sessions with Michelle. This week we made a delicious Orange & Almond Cake, enjoying the citrus scent of the fresh oranges and the rich taste of the almonds. We discussed our own family favourites look forward to baking a few of them.
Tea Party with other Barchester Care Homes
Residents at Collingtree Park recently connected with residents from two other Barchester homes for an afternoon of tea, cake and a natter by Zoom. We were delighted to say 'Hello' to everyone at Ashby House Care Home in Milton Keynes, and Elm Bank Care Home in Kettering. Emily from Mill House Tea Rooms provided us with mini cakes which everyone loved, and we sang 'Happy Birthday' to one of the residents of Ashby House. We had a great time making new friends and hope we can go to visit them in our minibus later in the year.
Fun on pancake day
Great fun was had by all the residents at Collingtree Park, especially Yvonne and Winifred who had a go at tossing pancakes on Shrove Tuesday. We enjoyed them the traditional way, with lemon and sugar.
Peter and Margaret enjoy Valentine's tea
Peter and Margaret are still celebrating their love after 61 years of marriage. They are both resident at Collingtree Park and we made sure they enjoyed a romantic afternoon tea and exchanged cards. Peter then gave Margaret some lovely flowers and a kiss.
Making hearts for Valentine's Day
Residents at Collingtree Park have been painting and decorating hearts for a Valentine’s Day display and celebrations this week.
