Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Unsworth
I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Cossins House Care Home

Bushy Park
Residents at Cossins House enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Bushy Park. Pat asked if we could go and see the deer at Bushy Park as she hadn’t been for a long time. Lisa, activity coordinator organised a trip with Horsley Community Bus. It was a lovely day, the sun was shining and we stopped to get a cup of tea and ice cream whilst watching the deer’s and enjoyed nature. It was so relaxing to sit by the lake.

Visiting my sons Nursery
Our lovely Pat was absolutely delighted to go to her sons nursery. Pat enjoyed a trip to Cedar Nursey to look at all her sons achievements and was so very proud. In pat’s word’s ‘ I must say I am very proud of my son, this looks amazing’. When returning from the nursery Pat spent the afternoon telling all our residents about how well her son has done and how beautiful he had progressed and turned a field into something so beautiful. Pat also enjoyed standing behind the desk to pretend she was a new employee.

Birthday Celebrations
Our wonderful Jean had a lovely day celebrating her birthday with friends, relatives and everyone at Cossins. Jean was delighted with her gifts and birthday cake.
Another year younger as Jean says.

Summer Garden Party
Wow what an afternoon of fun and music with our friends and families. Residents of Cossins House have enjoyed a fabulous Summer Garden Party. Pimm’s, cakes and lots of dancing. Jane Beaumont sang the afternoon away and had us all up on our feet. Making memories.
