Activities at Cossins House Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Lisa Unsworth
I have been working in care since the age of 16, when leaving school. Over the years, I have been a senior care assistant, administrator, home trainer and activities coordinator. I really enjoy working with the elderly residents.

Life at Cossins House Care Home
Summer Garden Party
Wow what an afternoon of fun and music with our friends and families. Residents of Cossins House have enjoyed a fabulous Summer Garden Party. Pimm’s, cakes and lots of dancing. Jane Beaumont sang the afternoon away and had us all up on our feet. Making memories.
Summer fun
Getting out and about enjoying the sunshine and loving being read to by young student’s from St Andrews School. At Cossins house we like to engage individually and as a group. We welcome the community to come along and share special moments with us.
Summer BBQ
Cossins House invited friends and families and previous respite residents to enjoy a lovely summer BBQ at Cossins House. Whilst enjoying delicious food and drinking Pimm’s everyone took time to take part in a pub quiz.
Wimbledon 2023
Residents at Cossins House have been enjoying watching Wimbledon. Many of our residents are very fond on tennis and also played themselves. Residents sipped on their Pimm’s whilst enjoying strawberries and cream.
Wedding Celebrations
Residents at Cossins House were delighted to see Activity Coordinator Lisa in her wedding dress. Residents helped Lisa along the way with her wedding plans and were so happy with a surprise visit on her return from holiday.
Lisa and residents spent the afternoon talking to each other about their wedding days and all their memories with loved ones.
Sisters Reunited
After 5 years of not seeing each other Ruth and Margaret were reunited. Our dear Ruth hadn’t seen her sister for such a long time, they were desperate to see each other. Margaret lived far away and is 91years old. Cossins House invited Margaret to come and stay over the night to be able to spend time together and make new memories. Margaret travelled to Cossins House by train to fulfil her wish. Both Ruth and Margaret had a wonderful time and made every moment count.
