Activities at Elgar Court Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Kerrie Perks

Activities Leader

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court.  I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake.  I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends.  I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club.  In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

Residents are all of a flutter!

Residents really enjoy their trips out to local places and far afield! We recently enjoyed travelling to Stratford Upon Avon Butterfly Farm - The UK's Largest Tropical Butterfly Paradise and immersive rainforest experience for all visitors!#

Getting up close and even holding butterflies was such a magical experience for residents, and as you can see, they were truly delighted!

The Hanley Show – The Big Bakeoff!

Our Residents have been busy this Friday preparing to enter the Victoria Sponge Bake Off category at the annual The Hanleys Village Show. This is the show’s 71st year, and the Hanleys Show celebrates community spirit and highlights horticulture achievements, home made food, fruit and flower displays.

Our three residents had so much fun with their entry, with Peter, Alice and Joan whipping up a glorious Victoria sponge! Pictured here with the wonderful Cake entries is Mrs Carless, one of the hardworking Hanleys Show committee organiser’s. Fingers crossed for our entry on Saturday 24 August and good luck to everyone who has entered – the displays looked absolutely amazing!

A special shout out to the Blind Dogs UK fundraising team, Mrs Willets and Mrs Fowler who are raising money for this very worthy cause!
