Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello, My name is Kerrie and I provide the unique life enrichment for residents at Elgar Court. I moved to Malvern 12 years ago to live with my fiance and we have two tortoises and a snake. I love to play Dungeons and Dragons with my friends. I am very 'outdoorsy' and used to ride horses and compete nationally in athletics, specialising in track and field for Redditch and Bromsgrove athletics club. In my spare time, I love being in the kitchen and making treats for my family.

We are the WINNER of "Residential Care Home of the Year"

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded "Residential Care Home of the Year" in Worcestershire!!
What an honour and a testament to the whole staff at the home to have been rewarded with this achievement. In our recent CQC rating we were praised as “Outstanding in some of the areas and exceptional at maximising the effectiveness of people’s care and treatment”.
At Elgar Court Care Home, we always strive to provide the best possible quality care for everyone who lives at the home. We pride our home being one large family and every day is a new day and our vision at Elgar is that we are a cruise ship - we just don’t leave dock, but we do venture out on many beautiful and varied excursions and live life to the full, Life begins at Elgar Court”.

Hanley Village Family Fun Day

We visited the brilliant Hanley Swan Family Fun day to donate some of our many jigsaws (all complete!) to their Tombola stand. We met the wonderful pupils at the Amelia K Academy and the Academy’s founder, Amelia (on the left in a black T-Shirt) and the range of fabulous stands for everyone to enjoy during half term week.

Volunteers' Week 2026

We are truly blessed to have Maddie as our volunteer for Activities. Maddie is really appreciated by residents and staff at Elgar Court, with the thoughtfully planned life enrichment she delivers to all our residents.

You may remember the fabulous Cinderella pantomime Maddie wrote and put together last Christmas (2025), and got everyone involved - this was above and beyond being a volunteer and shows the life enrichment Maddie wants to provide each of our residents.

Sarah Cadwallader our General Manager (picture here) presented Maddie with a bottle of premium Cava as our way of saying THANK YOU for being our volunteer and for everything you do at Elgar Court for us Maddie!

Operation Orphan 2026 - Knitters WANTED!

You may remember last winter we sent off dozens of blankets to children in war torn countries needing warm over the winter months. This year we are starting early and Brenda has been knitting again and now we have a selection of scarves which are about to be sent to Operation Orphan (our second parcel ) ready for next winter. Thank you Brenda for all your hard work!

If you would like to knit squares for winter to make the blankets and join us for tea, cake and a natter whilst knitting away, then please do come to our Community Craft Cafe every Monday afternoon from 2.30pm - 5pm Everyone welcome and it will be wonderful to make new friends! Classic Car Sunday!

What a wonderful turnout this weekend for our very first Classic Car Sunday event! We had so many spectacular cars with their owners who lived in Malvern and the surrounding parishes, and those who travelled from far away including the Pat Dorrell, Chairman of the Austin Healey Club who travelled all the way from Stratford Upon Avon and Simon with his Porsche 356 from Kidderminster.

This event will be held every second sunday of the month until November.

Resident's Pick Their Own!

An early harvest was needed here as our allotment is growing well. It was time to start reaping what we sowed and Ken had a wonderful time picking some Bok-choi and the last of the radishes that are ready to be eaten. But like any good green thumbs person knows you must re-sow the seeds after reaping from the last!

Hands Up for FUN!

Exercise and keeping fit is one of the pillars of our residents Well-Being at Elgar Court. From Pilates, Walking, Swimming and Tai Chi today, we are always looking for fun ways to support our residents overall fitness and fun!

Anyone for Tennis?

A successful Tennis Game for the ladies today! Jenny our resident, plays tennis weekly with tennis coach Mark at Manor Park in Malvern and is he always a worthy opponent! And with Wimbledon not far away, Jenny is practising her backhand and spins ready for the Wimbeldon tournament.

We will be hosting our annual 'Strawberries and Cream' Wimbledon Finals event on 12th July and you are invited to join us in our air conditioned viewing lounges - Tel: 01684 211720

Saturday Gardening Club!

Ken, Jenny and Peter joined Garden Club on Saturday morning and helped with watering, picking some of our flowers to replenish a residents vase and checking our outdoor planting. Part of being outside gives us a big appetite, so we always make a beeline for the cafe afterwards to enjoy a coffee, eating cake and chatting over the gardening and coastal books.

RAF Cosford Visit for VE Day

We celebrated VE Day on Friday, 8 May 2026, to commemorate the end of World War II in Europe with a day out at RAF Cosford in Shropshire.

Our residents took flight to the RAF museum in Cosford with two of our fellow Barchester care homes; Iverley View and Holyfield, to share a fantastic day out together. Everyone loved seeing all the different planes from the Messerschmitt to the Valiant - and there was even a few tanks there to enjoy as well.

Peter who chatted to staff at the museum was hoping to see if the had a Viper plane, but sadly it was not currently on on the day of the visit. At the end of the day, everyone said what a splendid day out it was and really enjoyed meeting other residents for the homes too!

CQC rating - We're so GOOD!

We are delighted our home has been awarded an overall ‘GOOD’ following a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection. As the newest care home in Malvern, we were praised for a responsive, safe, effective, caring and well-led service showcasing exceptional areas of quality - and quoted as “Outstanding in some of the areas and exceptional at maximising the effectiveness of people’s care and treatment!"

Joining in with residents and staff celebrations were Cllr Clive Hooper, who officially opened the home in 2023 in his role of Mayor of Malvern along with Cllr David Mead who was also the Deputy Mayor at the time. At Elgar Court we pride our home being one large family and our vision at Elgar is that we are a cruise ship - we just don’t leave dock!

Quiz Time with The Elms School!

What fun! We were delighted to welcome the pupils from the Independent School, The Elms in Colwall. They had very thoughtfully devised a head scratching quiz for the four groups of residents and pupils to answer - and they even brought prizes with them to give out to residents afterwards! It was a huge amount of fun and we can't wait to welcome back this lovely school!

Supporting our Community with Warners Supermarket

Supporting our local communities is very important to our home, and this is why we teamed up with the award winning retailer, Warners Supermarket in Upton on Severn to give away a £100 of vouchers to one lucky winner to spend in their store. This well loved supermarket is at the heart of the riverside town and sources from a host of local producers - we are proud to support the local community in this competition launched on Facebook.

National Carers Week - 8-14 June

This week we are taking time to recognise and celebrate the incredible work carers do across the UK - and here at Elgar Court, we are proud to have so many exceptional carers among us.

Our carers go above and beyond every day to provide comfort, dignity, and compassion to our residents. Through their hard work, patience, and dedication, they help create a safe, caring environment that supports both physical and emotional wellbeing.

We know that caring can be challenging, both physically and emotionally. That’s why, during Carers Week, we want to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to all our carers for the incredible difference they make every day.

Clay Creation and Painting

A ladies morning activity today for Clay Creations and Painting. Everyone enjoyed a morning Clay Creating and painting with chats and laughter throughout. The Clay Creations are being left to dry and will be painted next week. A relaxing morning for all.
