Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Elm Bank Care Home

Owl Awareness Day
Owl Awareness Day on 4th August celebrates the mysterious and fascinating creatures of the night; Owls!
With large eyes, stocky bodies, and short tails it's a wonder that there nocturnal birds of prey are such incredible hunters. They can see, hear and communicate in the dark making them some of the most successful predators in the world.
Our residents think they’re also very beautiful creatures and dedicated their arts and crafts session to creating some colourful owls for display on their special day.

Reading Corner
Not all book clubs are the same, who said they need to be full of heavy novels, crime mysteries or true romance?
On Daisy Lane our residents all agreed that reading children's story books can be very enjoyable, the illustrations bring the characters to life and the larger text is much easier to read for those with failing eye sight. We love reading and nattering over a slice of cake!

Cube Disability Performance
Today Elm Bank welcomed the wonderfully talented group of performers from The Cube Disability Kettering.
This small group of singers brought energy and light to the home as they sang, they were full of kindness and joy. Our residents really enjoyed their singing and commented on how polite they all were.
Thank you The Cube Disability for putting on such a great performance. We look forward to seeing you again.

Team Quiz
This Afternoon Residents and family members at Elm Bank splint into two teams; Team Orange and Team Pink to test their knowledge in a quiz afternoon.
Our residents really enjoyed working as a team and shouting out the answers to see who could win. Team Pink made a good come back after Team Orange took the lead. It all came down to a tiebreaker which resulted in Team Orange winning 42-41.
Some residents told us how they enjoyed learning new things in the quiz and pushing their knowledge. Everyone is looking forward to the next competition.

Knitting Club
Saturday mornings are made for knitting. The Ladies love to come along to Knit and Natter club and we are working on a new project. This week we have been knitting squares to make tiny blankets for the hospital. The Knitting club has been trying our new knitting machine. Residents say 'it makes knitting so much more enjoyable and easy'.

Summer Bash Success
What a fun day! As staff, residents, friends and family members joined together with the local community at Elm Bank to enjoy a Summer Bash full of tropical fun and frolics!
Elm Bank hosted a variety of activities throughout the day, including ‘How low can you go’ Limbo dancing, a Tiki bar and a tombola with several independent trader stalls to peruse before live entertainment from mother & daughter duo; Lesley Ann & Katie Rose.
The inclement weather certainly didn’t stop play at Elm Bank, with ‘Coco Joe’s’ ice cream van parked outside for anyone wishing to cool down as the sun made a star appearance it was a delight to see different generations having fun together.
Our visitors enjoyed plenty of refreshments from BBQ sausages and burgers in buns to snacks with plenty of homemade cakes prepared by the catering team... there was something for everyone.
Getting into the true spirit of the fetes' tropical theme; Katie Hudson, General Manager dressed as a Flamingo alongside Deputy Manager, Amanda Yule as a Pineapple said: “Staff at Elm Bank are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, definitely paid off. It was a resounding success!”
We’d like to thank you all for coming and making today so very special for everyone at Elm Bank.
