Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Residents had so much fun looking at all of the wonderful dog photos that got sent through, it was a hard decision for the residents to choose a Winner of our Dog Photography Competition. Thank you to everyone who sent in their beautiful dogs.
Thank you again to Jollyes Kettering - The Pet People for the Dog Hamper. We're sure Bailey will enjoy all of her treats and goodies.

Abstract Artworks
Thank you to Honorata for coming into the home and creating some wonderful art with the residents. Blossom Trail residents enjoyed experimenting with different tools and paint to create some abstract masterpieces. We can't wait for them to dry and get displayed around the home for our families to see.
Happy 100th Birthday 'Kathleen'
Birthdays are always a special occasion at Elm Bank care home, and our latest birthday girls' celebration was no different. Although this one took our beautiful resident; Kathleen Chapman into 3 digits as we had the enormous pleasure of wishing her a very Happy 100th Birthday!
Please join us in congratulating Kathleen on becoming a 'Kettering Centenarian'.
Kathleen and her husband Fred married in 1945, with their 78th wedding anniversary due later this year, it's going to be quite the year to remember. The loving couple lived in Gloucestershire for most of their lives before retiring to Kettering 30 years ago, to be closer to their son and extended family.
The happy couple, now enjoy living at Elm Bank and being close to their children; grandchildren and great grandchildren!
With several serenades from our visiting musical duo ‘Nice and Easy’, Kathleen and her Elm Bank friends had a super time singing away to their favourite songs. All together in the lounge, we sang 'Happy Birthday to Kathleen' as she received her birthday flowers, and luxurious cake created by Head Chef; Sharntelle saying 'it looked too pretty to slice'
We all wish Kathleen many more happy birthdays with her Elm Bank family.
Namaste Session
This afternoon Blossom Trail Residents had a Namaste Session.
These Namaste Sessions are focused around the seven senses, touch, sight, sound, taste, smell, vestibular (movement) and proprioception (spacial awareness). The environment was calming with nature sounds and sensory lights, we used our magic table to project flowers onto the ceiling for a more relaxing atmosphere. We spent time enjoying our afternoon tea and cake whilst watching the wildlife outside our window.
Mary said "I had so much fun and will come back again, I liked the flowers on the ceiling".
Yvonne said "I like the rainbow ball". Yvonne particularly enjoyed the tactile feeling of the rainbow string ball and bouncing it.
Dancing Duo!
Thank you to Lesley Ann Vocalist Entertainer and Katie Rose Vocalist for coming to our Open Day today. The residents had such a wonderful afternoon singing and dancing to their favourite songs.
We look forward to seeing you again soon for some more cheerful musical afternoons.
