Activities at Elm Bank Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Tina Prosho
Hello. I am Tina, I have been a team member at Elm Bank since 2023 and began my career as a Team Leader and was upskilled to Head of Care before moving my role to become Activities Coordinator.
I am passionate individual with vibrant character and my goal is all about life enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents. I ensure that the entertainment is stimulating and is inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home on a regular basis.
Getting to know our residents better is so important to me, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Elm Bank that will make for a richer activities program to be developed. I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.
We are always open to new ideas. If you would like to get involved in any of our Life Enrichment activities or have a skill, or project you'd like to share with our residents, please click here to contact me direct. New entertainers and community links are always welcome.

Life at Elm Bank Care Home
International Puzzle Day
Today we celebrated International Puzzle Day with jigsaws, word searches, crosswords and a variety of other intellectual puzzles. Whilst completely our puzzles we enjoyed chats about our own trips to the seaside, wildlife and travel. It was a day filled with fun and reminiscing.
Jackson Pollock's Birthday
Today Blossom Trail celebrated Jackson Pollock's Birthday with a painting class. We worked to create our own abstract art based on Jackson Pollock's 'drip technique'. We experimented with a variety of tools to see which was the best to use and enjoyed adding some of our favourite colours to our artwork.
Holocaust Memorial Day
Today our Activities Lead Kerrie, Senior Carer Danni and Carer Isabelle joined Kettering's Holocaust Memorial Day Commemoration. It was a pleasure to represent the home to remember those who died during the Holocaust and during more recent genocides in Ukraine, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.
These pebbles were placed in commemoration of all those who have been victims of genocide around the world.
National Activity Providers Week
Today we got to say a massive THANK YOU to Kerrie and Mark from the Elm Bank Activities Team.
Staff and residents at Elm Bank care home have been celebrating National Activity Providers Week, which takes place from January 23-27 and wanted to thank the wonderful activities team whose hard work and dedication make a real difference to the lives of the residents living there.
National Activity Providers Week is an annual event to support activity professionals and thank them for all the many different varied activities they provide to residents and patients. Each and every member of the team at Elm Bank offer unique, tailored activities and entertainment to the residents every single day.
Everyone agrees they always go above and beyond their role and for this the whole home is truly grateful.
Celebrating Chinese New Year
On Sunday 22nd January we welcomed in the Year of the Rabbit with a day of celebrations and activities.
Inspired by Chinese culture and traditions, our residents and staff exchanged lucky red envelopes and the home was decorated with hanging red lanterns and artworks created by our residents.
We learnt all about the traditions and superstitions of Chinese New Year. The home's hospitality team cooked up an oriental feast for lunch and residents enjoyed the delicious food and reading their fortune cookies courtesy of Chans Brambleside.
Arnel Berido, General Manager said: “We have had a brilliant day, the home looks absolutely wonderful decorated all in red. Many of our staff dressed in red for the event and we all had fun watching videos of traditional lion and dragon dances, shaking our pompoms to the rhythmic drumming."
