Activities at Fairview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators create a weekly planner that consists of a variety of activities, which caters to all residents' needs as best as possible. The most popular activities are bingo, which we host twice a week, flower arranging and weekly visits from Vinnie our pet therapy dog. Residents also enjoy minibus trips in the nicer weather and we attend a concert every month. We are also involved in the Council Well-being Team, which keeps us up-to date with upcoming events within the community and provides interesting ideas for activities we can try in the home.
Throughout the year, we host various special events, including themed open days and summer and winter fetes that people in our local communities are welcome to join us for. We also have monthly church services with Rev. Ann from Danestone Congregational Church, which is open to loved ones as well.
Fairview House Activities Team
Chloe, Cecilia and Veronica make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Fairview House.
They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to the home and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.

Life at Fairview House Care Home
Easter at Fairview House
Our morning began with our good Friday Easter service in preparation for Easter. What we didn't expect was a wonderful visit from not one but two Easter bunnies!
The Easter bunnies went around the whole home delivering Easter eggs, dancing to music and bringing joy to everyone who found them!
Kindness in the community - Easter egg donations
Fairview House would like to say a big thank you to Aberdeen Funeral Directors, Causewayend & Woodside for donating Easter eggs for our residents. James, Duncan, Melissa and staff kindly came to the home and dropped off several eggs which we are certain our residents will love!
We are ever so grateful for this kind gesture and cannot wait to see their faces when they get to enjoy them over Easter!
Thank you again!
Virtual event with the Wallace Collection
We had a lovely time joining Holly and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to the Collection, followed by a sensory exploratory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.
The Collection ranges from Old Master paintings to 18th century French furniture, arms and armour.
We all had a wonderful time and cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and paint some landscapes in the upcoming days.
Easter Bonnet Competition
Easter preparations are well under way at Fairview House with our Easter bonnet competition. Residents got their creative hats on and made some lovely designs!
Easter Preparations
Easter preparations are in full swing at Fairview House as we kicked off with our egg painting workshop.
Flower Power Party
We had a fun filled day of partying and dancing. The snow may be falling but that hasn't stopped us! We are back at it bringing themed parties all around. Today we had a flower power party, where we danced to 70s party music, creatively dressed up, played bowling and enjoyed some delicious milkshakes, we brought back the sunshine with all our laughs.
It was a great day, enjoyed by all!
