Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

50's Garden Party

We had the most wonderful 50's themed Garden Party last week here at Falmouth Court. Our activities team donned their 50's apparel and decorated our beautiful gardens with bunting. Everyone was entertained by the amazing Rachel Best who sang lots of 50's classics throughout the afternoon. One of our residents Gill especially enjoyed the music and danced most of the afternoon!

It wouldn't be a garden party without cake! Our talented Chefs prepared a wonderful afternoon tea for everyone to enjoy. The event was enjoyed by residents, their families and the local community.

Trip to Queen Mary Gardens

We enjoyed a trip to Queen Mary Gardens where we walked amongst the flowers. One of our residents recalled how there used to be a miniature train railway in the gardens and told of how he enjoyed spending his youth there.

Our ladies had fabulous fun admiring the flowers and we picked up some ideas for our own garden at Falmouth Court.

We finished off with ice creams on the beach front and enjoyed some fresh sea air before having a drive around Pendennis Point to return home. A lovely afternoon had by all.

Selina to the Sea

Celebrating life and making dreams come true ?
Our resident, Selina told us she wanted nothing more than to have a paddle in the sea once again as she used to swim in the sea regularly.
Chloe, Activities Lead and Haley, General Manager supported her with her wish to dip her toes once again at Gyllyngvase beach with an ice cream stop included.
Selina told us it made her feel young again and she loved her afternoon with the girls ??????
We are so happy to part of continuing to make memories with our residents.

Trip to Falmouth Memory Café

We had a lovely trip last week for our residents living with Dementia, we took them along to the Falmouth Memory Café.

Our ladies had a lovely time listening and singing along to the 'Perran Bells'. The Perran Bells provided a wide variety of songs played with hand bells, the session was also interactive with everyone getting involved.

We take our residents along to the Memory Café as often as possible and it has grown hugely in numbers over the last year. The team of volunteers really do work so hard to provide fun activity's for everyone that attends. It's a truly heartwarming for all involved

Cream Tea Trip to Budock Vean Hotel

Our residents returned to the wonderful Budock Vean Hotel last week for a cream tea! It was a especially lovely for Kay who used to go to many events here in the past. Every enjoyed the most delicious scones with jam and cream.

Jam first of course!

We were very lucky and had a break from the rain and managed to get out in the gardens for a picture. During our trip home we visited Maenporth and Swanpool beaches too.
