Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home

We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Falmouth Court Care Home

A fantastic day launching our new E-Care system “Enable”

A fantastic day launching our new E-Care system “Enable” today at Falmouth Court.

Our senior team have spent the past two weeks working hard to prepare the system with residents care plans and training colleagues.

We are delighted to “Go Live” today and celebrated the way forward in efficient and effective care documentation.

“Enable” is an e-care system that supports documentation at the point of care electronically, not only saving paper but meaning more time saved to spend with our residents. Here’s to the future of care recording!

Visit from Mabe Ladies Choir.

We recently enjoyed a smashing visit from Mabe Ladies Choir. They sung beautifully to our residents who as always loved the musical event. Listening to the Ladies gave all our residents and staff an emotional lift.

Découpage crafting session

Our residents enjoyed a crafting session of Découpage. One of the most satisfying crafts around, Découpage involves cutting out pictures, glueing them to an object and then coating the pictures and the object with layers of varnish. The finished item can look so beautiful that it appears to be professionally painted.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon

Playgroup Visit Falmouth Court

We had a wonderful intergenerational collaboration last week here at Falmouth Court. Our residents received a heartwarming visit from Bits & Bobs Playgroup Mid Cornwall. Our residents had the most wonderful time with the the little ones playing games and everyone enjoyed a sing along to end the session.

A huge thank you to all Bits & Bobs Playgroup Mid Cornwall for taking the time to come along and give us such a lovely time.

Ice Cream Trip

Our residents enjoyed a lovely trip to Pendennis Point this week to enjoy the sun now its arrived at last! A stop to have an ice-cream was of course an essential part of the trip. We are really thankful the weather has turned and we are able to get everyone out and about a lot more. Other trips this week have included National Trust - Glendurgan garden & North Helford countryside for coffee and cake and B&Q to get some plants and shrubs for the Gardening Club.
