Activities at Falmouth Court Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Chloe Collins
I have moved to Falmouth from Kent where I was already in place at another Barchester home as the Activities Coordinator. I love providing our residents with fulfilling activities and my specialty is arts and crafts. I have a degree in Fine Arts and achieved a first in the subject. I strive to provide our residents with a varied range of life enriching activities. I like to get to know each residents and their interests to I can tailor activities to individuals interests and hobbies.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Falmouth Court Care Home

Trip to Queen Mary Gardens
We enjoyed a trip to Queen Mary Gardens where we walked amongst the flowers. One of our residents recalled how there used to be a miniature train railway in the gardens and told of how he enjoyed spending his youth there.
Our ladies had fabulous fun admiring the flowers and we picked up some ideas for our own garden at Falmouth Court.
We finished off with ice creams on the beach front and enjoyed some fresh sea air before having a drive around Pendennis Point to return home. A lovely afternoon had by all.

Selina to the Sea
Celebrating life and making dreams come true ?
Our resident, Selina told us she wanted nothing more than to have a paddle in the sea once again as she used to swim in the sea regularly.
Chloe, Activities Lead and Haley, General Manager supported her with her wish to dip her toes once again at Gyllyngvase beach with an ice cream stop included.
Selina told us it made her feel young again and she loved her afternoon with the girls ??????
We are so happy to part of continuing to make memories with our residents.

Trip to Falmouth Memory Café
We had a lovely trip last week for our residents living with Dementia, we took them along to the Falmouth Memory Café.
Our ladies had a lovely time listening and singing along to the 'Perran Bells'. The Perran Bells provided a wide variety of songs played with hand bells, the session was also interactive with everyone getting involved.
We take our residents along to the Memory Café as often as possible and it has grown hugely in numbers over the last year. The team of volunteers really do work so hard to provide fun activity's for everyone that attends. It's a truly heartwarming for all involved

Penryn Camera Club Visit Falmouth Court
Our Lovely Karen from our activities team is a member of Penryn Camera Club and kindly arranged for them to come in and give a spectacular display for our residents recently. It was a hugely varied display with some lovely pictures from Wales and more locally Porthleven. There were some amazing wildlife shots including our own Karen's beautiful Fox! There was even some under water shots on display. Our residents had a wonderful evening which was enjoyed with cheese and wine prepared by out talented chefs.

Cream Tea Trip to Budock Vean Hotel
Our residents returned to the wonderful Budock Vean Hotel last week for a cream tea! It was a especially lovely for Kay who used to go to many events here in the past. Every enjoyed the most delicious scones with jam and cream.
Jam first of course!
We were very lucky and had a break from the rain and managed to get out in the gardens for a picture. During our trip home we visited Maenporth and Swanpool beaches too.

General Election Day.
Yesterday most of our residents opted to vote via the postal service. However Mary and Hilda decided they would like to go and vote in person. So of course we facilitated this for them. Mary mentioning the importance of women being able to vote and being seen to do so.
We then of course took a trip up to Pendennis Point for the ladies to enjoy a delicious ice cream from Falmouth Dairy. Mary enjoyed a salted caramel and Hilda coffee.
