Activities at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Activities here at Iddenshall Hall are an integral part of every day life for each of our residents. We strive to include as many of our residents as possible with the activities schedule. Our Schedule is released monthly and includes activities such as poetry afternoons, indoor games, Bingo, flower arranging, pamper days, quizzes, exercises, various musicians and entertainers, Pat Dog Visits, Music Therapy, discussion groups and trips out in our minibus to local places of interest and further afield to see the Blackpool Lights or to Knowsley Safari Park.
We are constantly asking the people who live in our home which events they would like to see taking place and we endeavor to fulfill these requests. Our aim is to provide a varied and packed schedule which allows for a vast array of skill bases and capabilities. We are in constant contact with local groups and businesses, the local Beaver Scout group are always happy to pay a visit to our home, helping with the garden or coming at Christmas to sing carols for us. We also have a small group of volunteers to help us, including pupils from our local 6th form College who visit once a week.
All the above helps ensure the lives of our Residents are fun and fulfilled.

Life at Iddenshall Hall Care Home
Halloween Party
We hosted a Halloween party this year at Iddenshall Hall. We decorated the main lounge and conservatory of the home and displayed our pumpkin creations too. We had a hot buffet lunch with creepy cakes and the bat biscuits we had made the day before. We had a sing along and exercise class on the day and the residents enjoyed dressing up in their witches hats. It was a lovely social event, which the residents enjoyed.
Pumpkin Carving
We have been carving pumpkins ready for Halloween here at Iddenshall Hall. We spent a day designing the faces on the pumpkins and carefully carving them out. We finished them off with spooky woollen hair and blackened teeth. We had fun doing our creations and displaying them, ready for our Halloween party.
Halloween Preparations
As part of the preparations for Halloween this year, we decorated some bat-shaped biscuits. We spent the afternoon carefully selecting the creepiest decorations we could find and getting creative! The biscuits were then covered and saved, ready for our Halloween party the following day.
National Poetry Day
To celebrate National Poetry Day, we held a poetry evening at Iddenshall Hall. The residents took it in turns to read out poems and we also created a few of our own, which we will be putting out on display for everyone to see. We enjoyed a glass of wine too, which always goes down a treat!
