Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Angela Cawsey

Activities Lead

Hello,  I am Angela the Activities Lead.

I am delighted to be part of the team at Kings Park after a transferring from a sister home in Salisbury, following my relocation to this area.

With experience in this role, my passion is bringing joy to our residents, whether on a one-to-one basis or in groups. I love getting to know each resident and incorporating their interests into engaging, meaningful activities and events that nurture the mind, body and spirit to enhance their well-being and life enrichment at our home. Making people smile is what I do best!

During lockdown, I ran daily Zoom sessions for well-being, including bingo and quizzes. When my children were young I volunteered as a helper at Boys Brigade and St John's Ambulance which was very rewarding. I love being a Grandma, music, crafts, the outdoors and animals - I have just started a new hobby of wild swimming with friends.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Kings Park Care Home

Malcolm's Music and Movement

Singalong in the home

Our residents at King's park love a good sing a long and a dance.

Some time was spent in our memory lane community listening to music and having a dance which cheered everyone's spirits.

Diana's Birthday

Today we celebrated a birthday for one of our residents Diana who has turned 94 today!!! From all of us here at Kings Park we send many happy returns.

Eric's patio party

Erics Patio Party! Eric had a plan to alter the landscaping in the garden at Kings Park Care Home and designed a way in which we could extend our patio area to ensure residents in the home could all benefit from the extra meters. Eric drew the plans and our team helped his vision come to life!

Typically it rained on our grand opening, however we had a wonderful time. Thank you to the Ferndown Mayor who joined us in celebration. Well done Eric.

Music and Movement

The benefits of dancing and singing were working their magic on our Memory Lane Community!

Even the General Manager Jenna, couldn’t help but get involved!

We have really enjoyed seeing some great dance moves from our carer Phoebe too! Well done team and residents.

Minibus outing to The Old Station Tea Rooms

Last week some of our lovely residents got out and about to explore some of the New Forest...

Pony spotting was the name of the game, as the bus wound it's way through the stunning countryside, before taking a much needed pit-stop at The Old Station Tea Rooms in Holmsley.

Stepping inside the tea room was like taking a step back in time! There was lots of memorabilia to see from it's past life as a working railway station, from old fashioned signs, to luggage and trolleys which everyone admired as they waited for their delicious cream teas in what was the original ladies waiting room.

A wonderful time was had by all!
