Activities at Kings Park Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Claudia Canosa

Activities Lead

Claudia moved to the UK from her native South Africa with her family some 6 years ago, although her family are of Italian decent.

With a caring nature, Claudia worked for a domiciliary care company helping in people in the community before eventually working in a care home environment, working up to the role of Senior Carer.

Realising how much she enjoyed making the residents smile, Claudia has now stepped into the role of Activities Lead here at Kings Park and very much loves the interaction with our residents, who have all taken a real shine to her.

Claudia can regularly be seen with our residents in a very creative capacity, enjoying flower arranging or leading everyone in a game of good old fashioned Bingo!

When at home, Claudia is a mother to two boys and a girl and also a pet mum to the the gorgeous, Molly - a Jack Russell cross.

She loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa in front of a good rom/com, with:  The Holiday, The Lakehouse and The Notebook as some of her favourites to date.

We are so happy to have her as part of the Kings Park team.

Happy Birthday Elvis - The King of Rock n' Roll!

Here at Kings Park residents recently celebrated the birth of one of the most popular icons of rock n' roll...

With his birthday on 8th January, Elvis Presley would have celebrated his 89th birthday if he had still been with us, so we felt it only right and proper that we acknowledge this very special day in history.

BORN ELVIS AARON PRESLEY in Tupelo, Mississippi.

One of the most famous individuals of his time, Elvis certainly left his mark on the world of music, with many, many very popular songs songs to his name - Beloved by generations old and new.

To mark this special day, residents reminisced over some wonderful images of 'The King', as well as enjoying a very special Elvis edition of musical bingo, involving lots of singing & dancing by all who joined in.

Elvis was taken from us all far too early, at the tender age of 42 years, but his music will live on forever!

Barchester's BIG Quiz 2024!

Residents and staff all gathered in the lounge recently for the most epic event of the year...

BARCHESTER'S BIG QUIZ!

Residents came together united with one common goal - to beat the competition!

Linking in for this live event, were over 250 other Barchester homes & hospitals, who all pitted against one another to come out on top as the overall team champions.

We did really well and managed to get 28 out of 30 correct answers, which have now been submitted.

Now we all wait with baited breath as we learn how we did overall.

Having enjoyed this event so much, we will be planning our own quiz night very shortly for friends and families to come along and join in with - As soon as we have a date we will let you all know!

WELL DONE TEAM KINGS PARK! What a wonderful afternoon we have had.

The residents were in a joyous mood as they welcomed in 2024.

Here's hoping it's filled with giggles and fun,

Go make some memories to last you a while,

And do this with loved ones who make you smile.

Hold close all those folks that you value the most,

A new year to come as we clink glasses and toast.

May this new year be full of joy and laughter,

Blessings to you and yours ever after.

We open the door to a new year beyond,

And spend this time with those who you're fond.

And may it be the year that your dreams all take flight!
