Activities at Kings Park Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Kings Park Care Home
Equine Adventures at Kings Park!
Animal therapy is something that we do a lot of here at Kings Park and is something which many of our residents absolutely love...
That being said, last week we welcomed the very gorgeous Mr Kellogg's the miniature American pony from Linking Hearts therapy horses, who certainly did an incredible job at spreading much joy around our home.
Mr Kellogg's (named such, after he was born near the Kellogg's factory in Wales), was a very welcome visitor in the home, going room-to-room and around all of our communal areas, so that the residents could enjoying meeting and stroking him. (Yes, he even went in our lift!)
With a very gentle demeanour, residents (some of whom it was their first time ever meeting a pony of any kind), learned much about the wonderful work that Linking Hearts do, as well as getting to reach out and stroke, touch and gently pat Mr Kellogg's in thanks for his visit.
Take a look at the wonderful photos of some of our residents enjoying their moment with him. There were so many photos, that we will post again tomorrow with more.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Linking Hearts for coming to see us and an extra special THANK YOU to you, Mr Kellogg's, for a job very well done! Have a carrot on us!
More from our Friends at M&S...
Our residents do love to receive flowers and our friends over at the Marks and Spencer Foodhall across the road, just keep 'em coming...
An injection of colour in the home is just what the doctored ordered to chase away the winter blues and the residents LOVE to spend time arranging them into vases for rooms and communal areas.
Take a look at their latest offerings!
A Little Wander...
Residents enjoyed getting out and bout in the community recently...
A brisk walk and some fresh air was just the ticket for some of our lovely residents last weekend, as they explored the local area.
As lovely as our beautiful home is, it's always lovely to enjoy a little change of scene now and again, so everyone very much enjoyed a mosey along Church Road, as they all stretched their legs.
It may not seem like much to you or I, but it's the little things like this that mean the most to our residents and they all very much enjoyed getting out and about for a while, before eventually heading back for an obligatory cup of tea and slice of cake that was waiting for all our intrepid explorers upon their return!
Poole Park
Some of our residents spent a wonderful afternoon exploring the fabulous Poole Park...
It may have been a bit of a grey day out, but that didn't deter our intrepid explorers getting out and about for some wonderful, fresh sea air!
With bread for the ducks (which mainly got eaten by seagulls!), the residents took a stroll around the lake, people watching as they went.
So, despite the gloominess of the afternoon, they all enjoyed having the cobwebs blown away as well as getting out and about, which they always love.
Tea & Cake Aplenty!
We recently welcomed a wonderful group of local individuals into our home for a special tea party...
Having been contacted by a representative of the Re-engage charity, who help tackle loneliness for those in our community over the age of 75, we welcomed 16 local individuals and their wonderful driver volunteers for afternoon tea.
Everyone enjoyed a lovely selection of finger sandwiches, cakes and treats all made by the wonderful, Wynn, our Head Chef.
Thank you to all who came along, it was our absolute pleasure to host you all and we hope to see you all again in the future.
Our doors are always open!
Floral Fancy...
A great BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful neighbours at Marks and Spencer Foodhall in Ferndown, who recently gifted us some fabulous flowers...
The flowers in question, were the perfect injection of colour into our home and our lovely residents have very much enjoyed their scent and colour dotted throughout the building, as well as enjoying arranging them in vases.
We would also like to thanks the very lovely Anne, daughter of our resident, Sheila, who was very kind in collecting them too!
What a wonderful sensory tonic they have been in our wet wintery season.
