Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Burns Night

We celebrated Burns Night this year with a traditional Burns Night menu that included haggis. Residents also enjoyed poetry reading and a performance from a piper, who played traditional Scottish music.

Craft Session

We had an enjoyable afternoon in our weekly craft session, when we got creative with some still life drawings. Residents decided they wanted to try something new and chose fruit as the subject to draw. They were thrilled with their creative masterpieces!

Peterborough Soup Kitchen

We had a lovely morning visiting Peterborough Soup Kitchen to deliver our hamper of donated items. Residents, families and staff kindly donated items for their Christmas appeal to help feed local homeless in the Peterborough community.

Local Derby

We had an enjoyable day out at the Rugby when we went to watch Northampton Saints vs Leicester Tigers. Our resident who is a season ticket holder was thrilled to be able to watch the local derby, we also participated in their Christmas toy appeal run by sponsor Travis Perkins.

We were delighted to donate toys for their Big Xmas Toy appeal to help brighten young people’s lives in and across Northamptonshire.

Bonfire Night

We celebrated Bonfire night this year with fireworks, hot dogs, hot chocolate and marshmallows. We also painted our own firework pictures to put on display around the home.
