Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Looking after our fish

Uldis, one of the residents at Longueville Court, has been enjoying the fine weather and keeping an eye on the fish in our pond. We always try make the most of our outdoor space on a nice day with walks, afternoon tea or just sitting and enjoying the sunshine.

Indoor activities for a rainy day

Rae and Julie have been enjoying some relaxing crafts and jigsaws while we look forward to the sun coming out again soon. There are always at least three activities every day, organised and lead by Karina and Gail from the Longueville Court Activities Team.

Easter Creations

Residents had lots of fun making some Easter-themed wreaths to hang on their bedroom doors. We are enjoying lots of different Easter craft sessions leading up to the bank holiday weekend here at Longueville.

Believe in Rainbows

We have received some beautiful paintings of rainbows over the last few days from children in our community who are painting rainbows to put in their windows in a bid to spread hope and positivity amid the coronavirus self-isolation period. We were thrilled to receive such lovely paintings and have placed them in residents' windows for everyone to see.

A Kind Donation

We were delighted when we had a surprise visit from Tesco, who kindly donated bouquets of flowers for our residents. They certainly lifted everyone’s spirit and we enjoyed a lovely day decorating residents' rooms, the communal areas and enjoyed an afternoon activity of making table displays. We would like to thank Tesco for their very kind-hearted gesture.

Nutrition & Hydration Week

We are taking part in this year’s Nutrition & Hydration Week with a range of activities to highlight the value of food and drink in maintaining good health and well-being. We have enjoyed fresh fruit smoothies and delicious afternoon tea with fresh cream scones, finished off nicely with a cup of tea.
