Activities at Longueville Court Care Home

Our activities coordinators are committed to organising a variety of activities that reflect the interests and capabilities for everybody we support ensuring a person centred approach.

The team have a flexible approach to our programme and we are constantly reviewing and updating our programmes to ensure we cater for everyone's needs and varied abilities.

The activities programme includes regular trips utilising the homes minibus, these include a number of destinations of local interest. We are particularly proud of the relationship we have built with Peterborough Sailability. This registered charity offers the opportunities to those with restricted mobility to enjoy the thrill of sailing on the open water and the sense of independence that brings in specially adapted boats.

Involvement in the local community is something that the whole team are very passionate about and we provide regular visits to a number of different facilities including local schools and churches. These activities also extend too visits from "Pat dogs" and local entertainers to aid in our ongoing quest to give each individual as much support and stimulation as they require.

Life at Longueville Court Care Home

Trip to Hunstanton

Trip to Hunstanton

Residents enjoyed the annual visit to the seaside at Hunstanton this month. We enjoyed a traditional fish and chip lunch, nicely finished off with an ice cream. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the nice weather.

St Luke's Summer Fete

St Luke's Summer Fete

We had an enjoyable day at our local church St Luke’s, for their annual summer fete. There were lots of different stalls and we happily accepted the offer of having our own stall to show.

Members of the church and members of our local community had the chance to learn more about life at Longueville Court. We also showcased some of our homemade craft items and delicious cakes.

Dinky Dancers , Dinky Dancers

Dinky Dancers

We had a lovely morning as we welcomed children from our local Dinky Dancers: music and action group. As a part of our new intergenerational programme, we welcomed members of the local community, childminders and pre-school children who combined an exciting mix of dance, and musical fun to entertain us.

It was an enjoyable experience for us all and it was lovely to see the two generations coming together and creating a beautiful musical experience.

Our Divisional Winner

Well done to Rory Dunne, who was named as a Divisional Winner in the 'Volunteer of the Year' category for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.

Ladies Day

Ladies Day

Ladies Day came to Longueville Court this year, and residents made fabulous hats whilst enjoying a feast of cheese and crackers, some delicious strawberries and tasty Pimm's & lemonade to wash it all down with!

The thrill of the horse racing mixed with the colourful hats and good food made for an enjoyable afternoon. We also welcomed members of our local community to share the excitement of the day with us.
