Activities at Moors Manor Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Jo Henderson
Hi, my name is Jo Henderson and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Moors Manor.
I am looking forward to bringing my creative side to the home as I was previously a florist and baker and look forward to us making lots of lovely treats for us all to enjoy.
When at home Jo is a mother to two wonderful daughters and also a pet mum to labrador Marley.
I cannot wait to welcome our residents into their wonderful new home and help to bring smiles, joy and laughter to each day.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Moors Manor Care Home

Steve Linn performs in the home
We had the fantastic Steve Linn come in to the home to entertain all our residents and as you can see from the photos we had a very fun afternoon. Residents were singing and dancing to the songs Steve performed from the earlier decades and having a lot of fun and laughter.
We look forward to Steve coming back again soon.

Group games in the home
Residents love playing different games here in the home as it is a great way to have a little bit of friendly competition and also to get those thinking caps working as well.
Rita, Eileen and Jenny all enjoyed playing Jenga together and were desperately trying to not knock the tower down. We also had Steve with his giant scrabble board come in to the home for all the residents to think of some great words to score as many points as they could.

Trip to the local pub.
Well who doesn't love going to the pub especially for a nice cold glass of beer. We decided to take our gents out on the minibus to our local pub The Woodman for them to enjoy a beer together sitting out in the sunshine. Cyril, Ivan and Robert had a lovely afternoon together and look forward to more of our gents in the home come along on the next trip to the pub.

Garden fun
We have such beautiful gardens here at Moors Manor, and when the sun comes out we like to make the most of them. Residents enjoyed the views out onto Avon Heath Country Park, walks, playing games and having tea and cake together in the garden together.
Residents have also been busy planting up flower seeds and we look forward to seeing them grow and then planting them into the garden.
Let's hope the sun comes back soon so that we can enjoy the gardens again soon.

Stagecoach Performing Arts Ringwood and Wimborne
On Saturday we had Stagecoach Performing Arts Ringwood and Wimborne come in to the home to perform to our residents here. The children sang a selection of songs which our residents thoroughly enjoyed and then spent time afterwards socialising getting to know each other.
We look forward to welcoming the children to perform in the home in the future.

Minibus outing to Poole Park
We went on an exciting trip to explore Poole Park. Our residents had a fabulous time travelling on the home’s minibus getting to see the local towns nearby to the home. Resident's enjoyed a morning of seeing all the ducks and swans and then finished the trip going to the café for tea and cake.
A lovely morning was had by all and we wonder where the next minibus trip will take us.
