Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

Hello I am Joyce the Activities Coordinator. I am new to the care sector having worked as a florist with my own business and I am loving this change of direction. I am committed to ensuring the residents have a varied activities programme as well celebrating events. I am following the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme of working with mind, body and soul. I do also love to dance with the residents when we have an entertainer in!

Life at Mount House and Severn View
Mount House Sports Day
Mount House had sports day in the sunshine and we all had so much fun, everyone had a good afternoon and all took part, staff dressed in sportswear and took part in relay, egg and spoon and lots of other fun games. Smiles all around.
Circus Themed Summer Fair
What a great time we have had at Mount House and Severn View with our Circus summer fair.
Everyone looked amazing in their costumes, and residents along with family members and staff we're entertained by the Magic comedy show. We all enjoyed Burgers, hotdogs, chips and of course lots of cake thanks to our great chef Liz.
And our tombola cake & sweets stands we're all a big hit. So Thank you to our amazing team for making it such a great day for all our residents.
Animal Family visits Mount House
What an absolutely amazing time we had at Mount House and Severn View we had the pleasure of the Animal family coming in and visit us with lots of their amazing animals, everyone had a fabulous time learning about all these wonderful creatures and of course getting to hold them. There was certainly no fear from our residents and they couldn't wait to meet them up close. The smiles and laughter was all over the home, It was really a great day and there were lots of photos taken so we will be making a photo album for everyone to enjoy and see what a fabulous time we had and the memories we have made. Thank you to the Animal family for making it so wonderful for everyone and we are all very excited to see you all again soon.
Flower Arranging & Cake Decorating
Mount House and Severn View celebrated international Flower week, we enjoyed all different ways to celebrate in our daily activities. We had a lovely time flower arranging and picked some lovely flowers from our gardens and our ladies made some stunning displays. In cake decorating it was all about the flowers and our residents really did some beautiful decorating and everyone enjoyed them for afternoon tea. In arts and crafts residents chose to use buttons for the flower templates and they really did amazing and Joyce chose to make some lovely beaded jewellery which were all fantastic. It definitely was a busy week.
Baby Shower at Mount House
Mount House and Severn View has been a hive of excitement with a Baby Shower for our lovely carer Jade, staff and residents joined jade in celebrating the soon arrival of Twins. We all can't wait to meet Matilda and Tatum and everyone at the Mount wish Jade and her husband all the very best. Our residents celebrated with all of the staff and had a lovely afternoon.
Ironworks Centre & Shropshire Sculpture Park
Yesterday at Mount House and Severn View we enjoyed making a couple of wishes from our Wish Tree come true.
John and Susan, who have never been to the Ironworks had both made this wish so we happily made it a double delight day. John said he was totally amazed at how wonderful all the sculptures were and Susan was delighted at the craftsmanship on show. Isabelle was quite amazed at how much it had changed having not been for many years. We all had a lovely time and were all very impressed by so many amazing sculptures.
At Mount House we know that being able to continue lifelong hobbies or interests is a key part of our resident's identities, and we make every effort to encourage and support each resident to be able to do so.
