Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount House and Severn View
Ironworks Centre & Shropshire Sculpture Park
Yesterday at Mount House and Severn View we enjoyed making a couple of wishes from our Wish Tree come true.
John and Susan, who have never been to the Ironworks had both made this wish so we happily made it a double delight day. John said he was totally amazed at how wonderful all the sculptures were and Susan was delighted at the craftsmanship on show. Isabelle was quite amazed at how much it had changed having not been for many years. We all had a lovely time and were all very impressed by so many amazing sculptures.
At Mount House we know that being able to continue lifelong hobbies or interests is a key part of our resident's identities, and we make every effort to encourage and support each resident to be able to do so.
Welshpool Garden Centre
This week took some our residents to visit Welshpool Garden Centre. Despite the weather we had a great time and our residents took the opportunity to pick up some items for home and the garden.
Regular visits to local attractions, popping out for coffee, pub lunches, mini-bus trips, and other outings are key parts of our life enrichment program and feature often on our weekly activity calendar.
At Mount House we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures.
Weekly Vintage Afternoon Tea
Yesterday afternoon at Mount House and Severn View we enjoyed our weekly Wednesday vintage tea afternoon. It was lovely seeing family and friends coming in to join us and making the most of the sunshine in the garden.
Hosting events for friends and family members to join us is an essential part of our activities program and we are always looking for new ideas to bring the wider community into our home.
Ladies day at Ascot
Our Activities Co Ordinator Emma and Reception Rachel decided as it was ladies day at Ascot we would bring it to our lovely ladies, everyone enjoyed champagne & Strawberries and of course it wouldn't be ladies day without some rather lovely Hats, and followed by watching some racing & we even had our own Ascot themed photo booth.
Jiggly Wrigglers come to visit
We spent a lovely afternoon welcoming for the first time Jiggly Wrigglers who run a Vintage session especially for care settings.
It was so lovely seeing the residents and children making some lovely bonds together and we really can't wait to see you all again soon. Thank you to the children and their grownups and jiggle wrigglers for making such wonderful memories.
Father's day at Mount House
At Mount House and Severn View we had a father’s day celebration for all our lovely gentlemen, they enjoyed visits from family and friends, and we surprised them with a gift to let them know how special they are to all of us here at The Mount.
