Activities at Mount House and Severn View
Our Activities team is a dedicated group whom strive to ensure that the residents of Mount House have a broad range of meaningful activities daily which reflect the needs, wants and interests of all our residents. From our larger events including Garden Parties in our spectacular grounds to birthday celebrations with live musical entertainment we always have a broad range of events to suit all of our wonderful residents. We also go on a number of outings throughout the year in and around Shropshire, many of which are linked to community organisations whom cater specifically for interests of the people we support.
Something we have always been passionate about here at The Mount is Music therapy and we offer a diverse musical programme of live music and entertainers throughout the year to suit all tastes. Food theme days and tasting afternoons, as well as regular Cookery classes and chair yoga are on offer as well as beauty therapy and massage.
We aim to consistently provide a high quality activities programme for all of our residents and ensure that regardless of limitations and circumstances each individual has the best possible experience within our home, through both a physical and mentally stimulating person-centred approach.
Joyce Morgan
Hello I am Joyce the Activities Coordinator. I am new to the care sector having worked as a florist with my own business and I am loving this change of direction. I am committed to ensuring the residents have a varied activities programme as well celebrating events. I am following the Barchester Life Enrichment Programme of working with mind, body and soul. Life at Mount House and Severn View
Mount House and Severn View hosts very own Cruft's
Mount House and Severn View decided as our residents love dogs we would host our very own cruft’s, so we had a dog show with 6 different categories from best coat to cutest, we had a great afternoon and the dogs that were entered were so well behaved, our residents did the judging and all of the dogs won prizes as well as a rosette for 1st. 2nd,3rd , they enjoyed tasty treats which were kindly donated by Shrewsbury Morrison’s supermarket, Vicky the community champion from Morrison’s always likes to get involved with our events and we can’t thank her enough.
Our residents enjoyed playing and petting the dogs after the show it was so lovely to see the smiles all around, we will be hosting another dog show later in the year as it was such a success.
Vintage pudding party
Here at Mount House and Severn View we held our Monthly Vintage pudding party and once again our amazing chef created some wonderful puddings chosen by residents which everyone really enjoyed. We were delighted with a special guest to join us our lovely Ralph who was a resident and recently went back home, he promised he would come and visit us all and all staff and residents were very happy to see him , he had a lovely afternoon and enjoyed catching up with everyone and reminiscing over the pudding we had on offer.

Spring has started at The Mount House and Severn View and Gardening club is now in full swing, our wonderful residents have been busy planting lots of vegetable seeds and once they start to germinate we will be transferring them to our vegetable patches and look forward to having a wide range of home grown vegetables. We have also planted a variety of bulbs into our planters and the courtyard is going to be a bloom of fragrance and stunning colours for everyone to enjoy.

We celebrated Ladies day at The Mount. We all dressed up in our dresses and had fascinators which were hand made by Emma the activities coordinator and our talented residents. The effort everyone went to was amazing, our residents enjoyed Prosecco and strawberries and had race themed activities we all had so much fun and even though it was Ladies day the gents got involved too.
