Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Burns Night

Burns Night

In honour of poet Robert Burns we celebrated Burns night with a Scottish Quiz paired with Haggis. We also had a bagpipe performance from Hamish, and listened to a live performance of Robert Burns poems as we toasted with a wee dram of whiskey and some neeps and tatties.

Musical Entertainment

Musical Entertainment

On 16th January. we welcomed back Amanda, who looked lovely in her floral dress. Everyone had a great afternoon with the tea on the go. We were all singing and clapping our hands. We all had a lovely afternoon, but the hour went by far too quickly!

New Year's Eve

Rothsay Grange saw the old year out and the New Year in with a party. We had lots of picky food, such as sausages, sausage rolls, mini pork pies, bar snacks and lots of yummy mini puddings, plus lots more.

Entertainment was provided by Gary as Elvis himself; he sang lots of songs that we all knew and enjoyed singing along to. Gary loves to make residents feel like he is just singing to that one person by kneeling down next to them and singing the words to them only. We all had a super time and did not want it to end. Gary always gives his all and is always ready for that one more call out before we let him go.

Garden Centre Visit

Residents had a lovely day at our local garden centre, spending time with the fabulous staff & getting a lesson in flowers, followed by afternoon tea.

On 22nd December, Cathy and her choir came to Rothsay Grange to sing some old Christmas favourites – and residents loved singing along with her.
