Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

Christmas Entertainment

Christmas Entertainment

As always, December was a very busy mouth at Rothsay Grange. We were joined by entertainers, who sang the good old songs of Christmas, alongside other great hits. All the residents enjoyed mince pies, cakes and biscuits that were made by our onsite chefs, Dean and Terry.

Solo singer, Cosmic Sparkle, joined us on 19th December. She sang her heart out and gave residents a jolly good time. Robyn always has a chat to each resident as her beloved husband sets up and packs away. As you can see from the picture, residents just love having her here. We can’t wait to have her back in the New Year!

Cosmic Sparkle

Cosmic Sparkle

On the 10th January we welcomed back Cosmic Sparkle. The residents had great fun with Cosmic. The afternoon went far too quick but even after the tea stopped flowing and the cakes and biscuits were put away, Cosmic Sparkle went to chat with the all the residents, and performed for us on the piano, Kathleen was sat by her and started to sing along so even though Cosmic had finished she got us all singing again! Cosmic Sparkle always puts a sparkle on our day. Joining us again on the 21st March, all guests are welcome to stop by.

Visit from the Salvation Army

Visit from the Salvation Army

We had our first Salvation Army service of 2019 where we sang lots of wonderful Hymns, and the group from the Salvation Army told us stories which made us laugh. The hour went far too quick! We had lots of chats after the service of course with cups of tea. If you want like to join us with our next Salvation Army Service on the 10/02/19 at 3pm please call 01264 772898 or just pop in.

Kimpton Primary School

The lovely children from Kimpton Primary School came to spend the afternoon with the residents of Rothsay Grange, bringing Christmas cards & homemade mince pies for everyone. They spent the afternoon making new friends & joining in with our afternoon entertainment the '4 Toons'. Everyone had the best time and great memories were made.

Christmas Carols

Christmas Carols

We had the wonderful Jayne Deer come into the home to sing us lots of different songs but of course she sang Christmas Carols! We all had fun singing along, clapping our hands and tapping our feet. We had tea and coffee on tap as it wouldn’t be the same if we didn’t. There was lots of homemade cake that went down like a treat for everyone made by our onsite chefs, Dean and Terry.

Christmas Entertainment

The weekend was jam packed with entertainment from Frances Lee and The Andover Choral Society, who got us all in the Christmas spirit. On the Sunday, we had the Salvation Army in with the band, which was a great treat for us all.
