Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

West End Garden Centre

West End Garden Centre

We took a trip out to West End Garden Centre and had a great time looking around at all the ornaments and flowers, and buying some displays for the home. We also stopped off at their restaurant for some lunch. Afterwards, we took a look around the hobby craft store.

Good Vibrations

Good Vibrations

We were joined by Dave Dawson again for some great musical entertainment. Dave is always a big hit with the residents and brought a spare microphone with him so that they could join in as well. As always, the tea was flowing and kitchen team baked some more delicious cakes.

Pamper Time

Pamper Time

Residents enjoyed a lovely afternoon of nail care here at Rothsay Grange. A little bit of pampering always does wonders for residents' well-being – it's always an uplifting experience for all involved.

Musical Moments

Musical Moments

On 14th August, we welcomed back Cosmic Sparkle. There was a great mixture of songs again, including hits from the '50s and '60s. Tesidents had fun singing along and clapping their hands.

Cosmic will return in September 13th – please feel free to join. There will always be plenty of tea flowing and cake to go round.

Summer Fête

Summer Fête

On 11th August, Rothsay Grange opened its doors once again to the public and welcome people to come and have a look around our beautiful home and gardens. We also hosted a summer fête, despite the poor weather.

A big thank you to everyone who made this event such a huge success!

Thank You Cards

Thank You Cards

On 6th August, residents made some thank you cards for the Co-op in Andover, as they bring bunches of flowers to us two or three times a month.

Residents, staff, families and friends of the home are able to benefit from this lovely gesture. The residents love making flower arrangements or just displaying them in their rooms. Sometimes, staff even take them home.

We wanted to say a big thank you to the Co-op for doing this lovely thing, so we made them some lovely cards.
