Activities at Shawford Springs Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Joanne Gadd
Hello, I am Joanne. I have worked as an activities coordinator for over seven years. In that time I have built a wealth of skills, knowledge and experience in designing and implementing activities that will support the mind, body and soul. I have a passion for delivering person centred sessions and will strive to ensure our weekly programme is engaging for all. I love organising events and am continually looking for ways to connect with our local community.

Life at Shawford Springs Care Home
Ladies that lunch
Julie and Sonja were joined for lunch by a local magazine. Caring times had heard of the exciting new project coming to Otterbourne and wanted a sneak peak at what the home would be offering. Head Chef Clifford pulled out all the stops and created a homemade lunch to remember. Complete with marmalade pancakes for everyone.
We have the keys.
The day has arrived. Contractors have officially left the building. Today General Manager Julie was handed the keys (all 200 of them) to her beautiful new home. Nerves and excitement were in the air as Julie and her team build on making Shawford Springs the very heart of the local community
