Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home

Christmas Carols
We would like to thank the Reception class that came and visited our residents last week. The residents enjoy the children singing carols and explaining what they have written on their lists to Father Christmas this year. The children had been busy at School that morning creating Christmas Cards to deliver to our residents, the cards certainly were a lovely surprise. We all had a fantastic day with a lot of giggles and smiles.

Twinkling Christmas Tree
Here at Shelburne Lodge we have finally began celebrating the festive period by starting to put up our Christmas Decorations around the home. Our lovely team got together wearing their Christmas jumper and Christmas Hats so they can spread the festive cheer! Over the coming weeks we have lots of festive activities happening in our home, so stay tuned for more updates from us all at Shelburne Lodge.

Festive Tunes
The wonderful Jimmy Kent was back at Shelburne Lodge yesterday performing all the hit songs the residents know and love so they could all have a good singalong! He started with Christmas songs so all of us can get ready for Christmas. Everyone had great time, and even some residents enjoyed being serenaded!

Table Bowls
This week our Residents from Memory Lane Community enjoyed a game of table bowls. When discussing with our residents what activities they would like to complete the following week, our residents all suggested something with a little bit of competition! It was a very competitive game, which was enjoyed by everyone.

Care Home Business Women of The Year
Natasha is Managing Director of Barchester’s South Division where she oversees more than 80 homes. Her passion for helping others and improving the lives of our residents has been her driving force, and she has always gone above and beyond in her work This award is testament to her outstanding contribution to Barchester, our homes and our residents lives. We cannot think of anyone more deserving. Well done Natasha, from everyone here at Shelburne Lodge.

Happy Birthday Margaret
A very Happy Birthday to one of our dearest residents, Margaret from all our colleagues here at Shelburne Lodge. Margaret celebrated her birthday over the weekend and she was ever so thankful for the surprise party. The icing on the cake for the birthday celebrations had to be the significant homemade cake our Chef had taken time to make for Margaret and her family for the festivites.
