Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home
Artist Rose Timney paints for us.
Residents gathered together this week to watch the incredible Rose Timney paint wildlife for us. She specialises in drawing animals, so demonstrated this through her breathtaking bird pieces. She painted one for us, and gave us hints and tips on the techniques she uses. Rose brought some stunning examples of her work for us to see. Kathy and Joan said they found it incredibly relaxing to watch and look forward to creating their own art works soon.

Happy National Activity Providers Week!
We would like to take this opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful Activity Coordinators here at Shelburne lodge.
We are proud of each and every one of our team for the unique, outstanding activities and entertainment they bring to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.
As part of the week, our Activities Coordinators have been taking part in a whole host of events provided by NAPA, connecting and sharing ideas with teams across the country.
Special celebrations are also taking place at the home throughout the week with residents, friends and fellow colleagues.

Residents at Shelburne Lodge enjoyed an afternoon of singing and dancing when Mikey and Sophie performed for us. Doreen in particular loves to dance and requested some of her favorite songs.

Movement and meditation at Shelburne Lodge.
Residents at Shelburne lodge including Freda, Jean and Lynne attended this weeks armchair yoga sessions, hosted by Yoga teacher Julie. This is one of our favorite activities. Julie guided us through a relaxing session of mindfulness and movement.

Floral workshop at Shelburne Lodge.
We had a wonderful afternoon at Shelburne Lodge filling the home with beautiful flower arrangements created in our flower arranging workshop.
Freda, Kath, Jean and Lynne really enjoyed arranging the flowers, choosing their favorite colour's and scents. They then choose where to place them around our home. Patricia, had a lovely bunch delivered to her room.

Art therapy with Rosemary at Shelburne Lodge.
Art therapy is enjoyed by all at Shelburne lodge and has many benefits for all residents especially those living with Dementia or disabilities. With the guidance of Rosemary Timney, we got festive with our still life painting and created these master pieces to decorate the home.
