Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Shelburne Lodge presents South Bucks Hospice with home baked cake. for Easter.
Team members from Shelburne Lodge Care Home presented the staff and patients at South Bucks Hospice with a home baked cake to wish them a happy Easter.
Rachel Head House Keeper, the baker from Shelburne Lodge went along with Joe, General Manager and Diana Deputy Manager to hand deliver the cake. and met with some of the team.

The Shelburne Lodge Easter Bake Off.
The Easter Bake off at Shelburne Lodge!
Residents at Shelburne donned their oven gloves and entered the "Barchester's Easter Bake off" to compete with other Barchester Homes across the country. With the assistance of head Chef Alex and Deputy Manager Diana, they crafted a beautiful Chocolate and Cherry cake with white chocolate and milk chocolate easter egg decoration.
Kathleen said " Let's try to make the best cake and win the competition."
Maggie said " I give us a 7.5 out of 10, I think we could have done better."
Let's hope the judges score us more favorable!

Residents have the choice of beautiful dinning rooms to enjoy their delicious and nutritious meals, all freshly cooked by Head Chef Alex and his team.

International Women's Day.
Residents and staff at Shelburne Lodge marked International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8th by spending the day celebrating the achievements of wonderful trail-blazing women throughout history.
Residents took part in discussions about the role of the many different women who have shaped history such as Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie and The Queen. They also talked about remarkable women from Buckinghamshire. The famous author Enid Blyton from Beaconsfield who wrote over 800 children’s books. Barbara Gubbins, born in High Wycombe and believed to be the youngest pilot in the Women's Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve and National treasure Mary Berry who live in Penn. They talked about the important women in their own lives and celebrated the achievements of their fellow residents.

From The Beatles to Frank Sinatra.
A huge thank you from everyone at Shelburne Lodge to Gary Allen! Gary came into our home this afternoon to sing us a range of music, from The Beatles to Frank Sinatra. Jean, William, Lawrence, Lynne, Freda and Kathy were among some of our residents who attended, and Joan especially enjoyed singing and dancing along. Doreen and our wonderful admin, Dawn, had a dance together as well. We look forward to seeing you again soon Gary!

We’re all loved up today at Shelburne Lodge! In preparation for Valentine’s Day tomorrow, we have been designing and making cards for those dearest to us. Doreen, Lawrence, Doreen and Andrew made some beautiful examples, with the help of our wonderful Sandra!
