Activities at Shelburne Lodge Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Shelburne Lodge Care Home
Shelburne Lodge embraces flower power!
Residents enjoyed celebrating International Flower Day which took place this week. International Flower Day promotes the psychological boost that flowers can give to people. From growing and nurturing plants and flowers, to gifting flowers to show love and appreciation, and sometimes just the simple act of admiring their beauty – flowers have the power to make someone’s day.
Residents took part in flower-based activities throughout the day including a flower arranging and a flower quiz which everyone really enjoyed. Their collective knowledge about flowers gained from years of gardening experience was very impressive.
Sharon Pither, General Manager at Shelburne Lodge said: “Whilst our garden is compact it’s a much loved space with raised beds and containers, residents really enjoy looking after the plants and flowers and watching them grow and change through the seasons. We don’t have many flowers at the moment so our residents very much enjoying having the fresh flowers to make arrangements then on display around the home”.
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.

Sharon Pither, General Manager added: “We’re delighted to be celebrating a truly remarkable woman as she celebrates this special birthday. Edith is a new resident to the home who we have all enjoyed getting to know, she loves quizzes and mastermind is a particular favourite.”
