Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Activities Lead
I started as a caregiver and was later given the opportunity to become an activity- coordinator, a role that I absolutely love.
I enjoy spending time with our residents and helping them stay active both physically and mentally.
Seeing them smile and engaging in activities makes my job very rewarding.
I’m so happy to be part of the wonderful team at Silverbirch!
Celebrating life at Silverbirch House Care Home

Keeping the mind and body active
Words have a wonderful way of bringing people together. Our Poetry Club met again today, to share favourite poems, discover new versus and enjoy meaningful conversations.

This week at Silverbirch, we've been having great fun with Move Ball!
Everyone enjoyed getting involved, working together, and staying active through fun games and activities. It is rewarding to see so many smiles, laughter throughout the sessions. We are definitely looking forward to the next one!

Rotary Club Membership
We are now proud members of the Rotary Group Guildford Wey and we are looking forward to supporting them with local projects in the Guildford area.

Fire Safety Talk
Thank you to the Blue Watch Team from Guildford Fire Station, when they came to talk to our residents about fire prevention and safety. We also thoroughly enjoyed seeing the Fire Engine up close!

Fund Raising Day 23rd April
Ahead of our annual Barchester Cook Off on the 30th April, we will be raising funds for the Barchester Charitable Foundation.

Getting creative together!
It was so rewarding to see everyone enjoying the process of transforming old curtain rings into beautiful beach-themed sun catchers. From mixing the sand and resin to adding the tiny shells and starfish, every single piece was unique and made with care.
Seeing the smiles, conversations, and sense of achievement as each sun catcher came to life is exactly why we love our arts and crafts sessions.

Trip to The Museum of Farnham
We had a great day at The Museum of Farnham and spent time in their beautiful grounds.

Celebrate Beatrix Potter's Birthday with a delightful cheese and wine evening
This week we had the opportunity to come together, share stories, enjoy delicious cheeses and a glass of wine, and celebrate the life of one of Britain's most beloved children's authors. Smiles, laughter, and great company, making it a truly memorable evening for our residents.

Community Engagement with the Hygiene Bank Guildford
We were delighted to meet with the Hygiene Bank Guildford. This amazing group help raise awareness and offer support, to prevent hygiene poverty. We are looking forward to working together in the near future.

Trip out to Mercedes World in Weybridge
We cannot resist a trip to Mercedes World in Weybridge. There is so much to see and do on a day spent here, there are racing cars, driving experiences, a learning centre and an attractive coffee shop.
