Activities at Silverbirch House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Bo Tse
With previous experience working in a care home as an activities coordinator, I have developed a strong passion for enhancing the daily lives of residents through engaging and meaningful activities.
I am thrilled to join Barchester because of its outstanding reputation for providing exceptional care and a warm, community-focused environment. In my role, I will be dedicated to creating enriching programs that promote social interaction and well-being, helping both residents and their families feel supported and connected.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

We love to get involved in local community. Here we are at Worplesdon Primary School
We are passionate about getting involved in our local community. Recently, we visited Worplesdon Primary School where we had the pleasure of meeting their team. Head Teacher Mrs. Kareen O'Brien also visited Silverbirch House and we look forward to having the children visit us while our residents enjoy events at the school. We are excited to be participating in the school fayre taking place on Sunday, December 3rd.

Dr Luke Zhang shows us Tai Chi he can offer to residents
Calming Tai Chi coming soon. Dr Luke Zhang came to visit us to provide a demonstration of the classes he can provide for our residents. Here’s our team going “Zen”, but residents can also join in seated. Manager Louise said she had never felt so calm.

Worplesdon Parish Council come to visit
Gaynor White and Victoria Fear, both members of the Worplesdon Parish Council, had the pleasure of going on a tour with our General Manager, Louise White, earlier this week. During the tour, they were able to get an in-depth look at our fantastic facilities and gain valuable insights into the day-to-day life in our home. The tour was a great success, and Gaynor and Victoria were impressed with the professionalism and expertise of Louise and her team. We are always delighted to share our knowledge and experience with members of the community, and we look forward to welcoming you for a visit.

Meeting the local emergency services
Our team paid a visit to our local emergency services personnel this week. We brought along "Hero chocolates" and invited them for a "Cuppa and Cake". Their delightful smiles showed us how happy they were. We extend an open invitation for anyone to come visit us anytime for refreshments and a tour.
