Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Tennyson on Air!
Our resident Peter (aged 95) was taken to BBC Radio Lincolnshire's studio to talk live on air with the Tennyson team about the forthcoming ‘Age on the Stage’ talent show final. Peter and 4 other residents will be singing in the competition. Fingers crossed we win!
Valentines Workshop
Residents had lots of fun at our Valentines workshop. They enjoyed making cards which will be distributed to all our residents (and sender kept secret), so they all receive a little something from their secret admirer.
Town Crier Visits
Karen our local 'Town Crier' visited our residents at Tennyson Wharf to give an insight of her role and what it entails.
Eric and The Shadows
Residents at Tennyson Wharf enjoyed an afternoon of singing and dancing thanks to some wonderful live entertainment from 'Eric and The Shadows'.
Chocolate Cake Day
Our residents were really enjoying national chocolate cake day. They each helped to mix the ingredients, which was then poured into two tins and left to bake. The residents enjoyed trying the yummy cakes.
Age On the Stage
Age UK Lincoln & South Lincolnshire teamed up with our residents at Tennyson Wharf for a new style of talent show. Generations came together to show that talent has no age limit, helping to form and strengthen intergenerational friendships. Auditions were held with a Grand Finale which will take place at the New Theatre Royal on Februrary 22nd 2020!
