Activities at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Rebecca Harrowing
Hi my name is Rebecca, I started working at Tennyson Wharf in July 2024.
Previous to starting at Tennyson Wharf I have lived in many countries and worked as a supply teacher and administrator in Bahrain in the Middle East - I have also worked in scouting programme groups in both the USA and UK.
Whilst I have worked with children for a lot of my life, working with the elderly is always been something I have been passionate about. I believe that everybody has a story to tell and our residents life stories all add value to Tennyson Wharf.
Outside of work I enjoy walking, gardening and going to the cinema.

Life at Tennyson Wharf Care Home
St George's Day
In honour of St George, patron saint of England, we decorated our home and enjoyed some delicious homemade themed cakes.
We spent some time learning important facts about St George and completed lots of St George's Day themed activities using Oomph Wellness.
We had a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.
Visit from Harmony Lincs
We enjoyed a visit from Harmony Lincs who came and sang for our residents and staff.
It was a wonderful afternoon enjoyed by everyone.
Thank you for coming to entertain us and we hope to welcome you back to Tennyson Wharf very soon.
Trip to the pub!
Over the weekend we took residents for a trip to our local pub Woodcocks, for a drink or two!
For some of our residents, a trip to the pub can be associated with many happy memories from their younger years and with Family. We are so lucky to have a lovely pub right on our doorstep for residents to enjoy, especially now the weather is improving!
Easter Celebrations
We’ve had a fantastic few days of Easter celebrations here at Tennyson Wharf from indulging in Chocolate treats, making our very own delicious crispy cakes, playing a variety of themed games and enjoying a special Easter Church Service.
Everyone has had a wonderful time!
Spring is here!
Residents had a fantastic afternoon making some fat balls ready to put outside to feed the birds!
So many residents here at Tennyson Wharf love watching the birds and we can’t wait to welcome more to our lovely garden!
Crufts
Residents at Tennyson Wharf have been glued to their screens to watch the pups being put through their paces. They have been avidly watching the judging of all the different breeds and waiting to see which dogs have been selected to go through to the next round of judging. But best of all they love the agility competitions where the dogs all seem to have so much fun!
