Activities at Threshfield Court Care Home
Here at Threshfield Court, we aim to tailor the activities to meet the needs of individual residents, the communities within the home and the home as a whole. We have regular, structured activities such as visits from Music for Health, specialist armchair exercise facilitators, local musicians and a growing team of volunteers, including our local clergy. We also have time for arts and crafts, all sorts of games, music, poetry and lots more. We are pretty good at being spontaneous too!

Life at Threshfield Court Care Home
Baubles
We all had a wonderful time joining Jennifer Owen - founder of Goldfinch Floral Studio for a creative floral bauble workshop.
Jennifer transported our residents to the out of the ordinary world of flowers and crafts and demonstrated how to create stunning hand-made baubles filled with dried flowers and grasses.
Our residents enjoyed filling and decorating their own glass baubles and their unique creations will be displayed at the home for everyone to enjoy.
Christmas crafts
Here at Threshfield Court we had a lovely morning listening to Christmas music during our festive arts and crafts workshop. Each session provides a variety of options to suit our individual residents interests and abilities, this session we created colourful Christmas tree decorations to hang on our own trees. We also enjoyed a refreshing cup of tea and a delicious home-made mince pie especially prepared by the homes hospitality team.
Blenheim Palace
Our residents were thrilled to join Antonia Keaney - Blenheim Palace’s Historian for an intriguing virtual talk on Winston Churchill.
The private resources of Blenheim Palace were drawn upon to afford very new and refreshing insights into this remarkable man. During the talk Antonia shared fascinating information about the breadth of talent, achievement and personality of the "Greatest Briton": soldier, politician, statesman, painter, writer, orator, family man - and bricklayer!
We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed learning more about UK’s former Prime Minister.
Christmas wreath making
At Threshfield Court Care Centre it is never too early to start making our Christmas Decorations. We had some nice relaxing music playing in the background, lots of conversations and a lovely morning with a cup of tea or coffee. It was a bit too early for the sherry and mince pies, it’s not quite December. We are all feeling excited about getting our Christmas Decorations out next week”.
Musical Extravaganza
We love a good get together at Threshfield Court. It may have been cold outside but it was hot hot hot in our lounge this morning! Popular vocalist and entertainer, Lianne King had her sparkly shoes on and thrilled us with a medley of songs which we sang and danced along too
Many of our residents played along with musical instruments, or got up and enjoyed a good dance. We enjoyed a variety of songs from artists which included Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison and Vera Lynn. It was a little bit of something for everyone..
Musical entertainment
Residents at Threshfield Court were delighted when popular entertainer, Geoff Hanson paid a visit to the home as he always brightens up their day. Geoff played his guitar and sung a medley of popular songs both modern and old favourites which saw residents soon singing along too. Some even joined in with their musical instruments, enjoying a little dance or simply toe-tapped along before settling back to enjoy a refreshing cup of tea and a delicious home-made mince pie.
