Activities at Waterside Court Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.

Life at Waterside Court Care Home

Hadden Hill Golf Course
Here at Waterside Court, we are very privileged to be having one of our residents who designed the Hadden Hill Golf Course which was built to the highest specification. Today was a very special day as we visited the golf course with some of our residents accompanied by Mr Morley himself and what a legend he is.
We all had fun hitting the ball on the drive, and topped of the day with a cuppa and yummy cake!!
Thank you very much, Mike and Barbara for your hospitality. Everyone really had a great time!

National Coffee Day
Our Bistro and coffee area was buzzing as usual!
What a lovely weekend we had, as we celebrated National Coffee Day!
Our home manager was on hand making speciality coffees for everyone to try. These went down a treat!

Cherished festivals in Indian culture
We had an amazing Saturday here at Waterside Court, celebrating Onam, one of the most cherished festivals in Indian culture.
An incredible event that brought us all together, a day full with lots of activities and entertainment, with a special festival dance from the team and a taste of the authentic Indian cuisine prepared by our very own staff.
Our cultural traditions, language and experiences are the foundations upon which we build our identity. Through promoting this in our home we'll have a positive impact on our own health and well-being as well as the people we care for.

Flower Arranging
Our residents can take part in weekly handicraft sessions such as art, flower arranging, knitting, sewing clubs and art classes etc. These sessions increase creativity and stimulate the development of new skills. We hosted a lovely flower arranging session which was truly enjoyed by all and put a smile on everyone’s face.

D-Day Celebrations
At Waterside Court we know that certain national celebrations are important to our residents. For the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings we held a garden party in the sunshine with family and friends.
Staff, residents and visitors also got a chance to have a tour of some immaculately preserved WW2 military trucks displayed outside in the car park. Local volunteers were kind enough to allow Waterside Court to have these military vehicles for staff, residents and the community to enjoy for the day and provided informative chats with everyone. Afterward everyone enjoyed some traditionally hand-whipped ice cream in the garden.
National celebrations and family-friendly events are just some of the ways that we ensure the residents at Waterside remain connected with their loved ones and the wider community.

Coffee At The Waterfront
This week we made the most of the sunshine by ambling over to the Waterfront Cafe to enjoy coffee and cake in the sunshine.
Regular visits to local attractions, popping out for coffee, pub lunches, mini-bus trips, and other outings are key parts of our life enrichment program and feature often on our weekly activity calendar.
At Waterside Court we support and encourage our residents to continue doing the things they love whilst also making new friends and exploring new adventures.
