Chinese New Year

What an amazing day we have here at Badgeworth celebrating Chinese new year. We started the day at lunchtime with our wonderful chef Nick serving a traditional Chinese Menu. The menu consisted of a hot and sour fish soup, followed by chicken and noodles served in a hoisin sauce. The meal was finished with a banana dessert covered in a homemade hot caramel sauce. This afternoon residents were treated to an afternoon performance of Chinese dancing from the children of the local Chinese church. The residents were also able to try traditional Chinese snacks whilst watching.

Pancake day

The staff and residents at Badgeworth Court had a lovely Tuesday morning making pancakes for shrove Tuesday. The residents thoroughly enjoyed making the batter and of course the best bit eating them with a cup of tea. One of our residents Jean said “ she remembers being in the kitchen on pancake day and her mother making them” no doubt it brought back memories for many of our residents.

Virtual live flower event

The residents at Badgeworth have had a lovely day making valentine flower displays at our live virtual valentine event.

The arrangements were beautiful and they thoroughly enjoyed making them.

A lovely afternoon with Violinist Meg

The residents here at Badgeworth Court have enjoyed being entertained by violin player Meg. She is a very talented Musician and plays a mixture of sounds from Modern to Classic.

Residents were touched by her performance and it was a joy to watch the residents fully engaged. Meg also took the time to play to residents who were unable to attend and performed for them in their rooms. We look forward to welcoming Mel back in the new year.

Christmas Pantomime time at Badgeworth Court

Staff and residents from Badgeworth Court  welcomed the Mayor of Tewkesbury, Cllr Ian Yates, for an afternoon of fabulous festive fun over the Christmas period.  The Mayor met staff members, residents and their families and was given a tour of the home and gardens to see all the fantastic facilities Badgeworth Court has to offer before he joined in the festivities, which included a wonderful pantomime performance.

The Mayor’s visit coincided with local production company, North East Producers, performing Jack and the Beanstalk for the residents and their friends and families so the Councillor stayed to enjoy the production along with a delicious afternoon tea of home-made cakes and mince pies made by the home’s talented head chef, Nick, all washed down with a glass of Mulled Wine. The residents and families had a wonderful time.

Cheltenham Cats Protection Visit Badgeworth Court

Badgeworth Court were delighted to welcome the local Cheltenham branch of Cat Protection. The cats sat on residents' laps whilst they reminisced about their own pets. Cats offer physical proximity and warmth to residents and are also known to be stress relieving. Thank you so much to the Cats Protection volunteers for bringing the cats in to meet our residents.
